On World environment day on the 5th of June 2025,an online session was held to congratulate our teams for the wonderful work done so far and to declare 5 IVF centres that were chosen after applications were invited from across the country.

These 5 chosen centres will bring in sustainable steps in their functioning and this pilot project will help IFS set up norms for further centres who enroll for Green certification.🍀🍀☘️☘️

The Green theme needed a wider audience and awareness,so at the IFS national confluence at Varanasi between 16-18th May,IFS President Dr Col Pankaj Talwar delivered a talk on Green ART which was an eye opener for many in the audience.

And to spread a word about it to the general public an unveiling ceremony was held by Dr Ritu Khanna,Vice president IFS at Assi Ghat with a pious promise to keep up the commitment of Greening ART practice in the country.

Also the GREEN BRIGADE has been publishing monthly bulletins by each one of our teams to keep the teams focused on the target and continue taking the baton forward.

The GREEN ART movement continued with the efforts of spreading awareness and keep the conversation ongoing on being eco-sensitive in our IVF practice.For our next national CME webinar on 2nd April 2025 we reached out to some experts beyond our Green Team to have a wider perspective of the task we had embarked upon.

Navigating the ESG Landscape in IVF: Integrating Sustainability in Fertility Care.

Dr.Brajbala Tiwari, Chairperson Environmental health Committee,FOGSI and Dr Raju Nair, Director Mitera Hospital, Kottayam and Kerala IFS Chapter Secretary added their inputs constructively to make it a very engaging webinar.

After ideation the Green Brigade of Indian Fertility Society brainstormed to explore the latest green sustainable initiatives in IVF, where the target was to discuss and outline steps to reduce carbon emissions The purpose was to give innovative but practical solutions shaping an eco-sensitive future of fertility treatment in India. Featuring expert insights and a range of thought-provoking presentations, the webinar on ex*****on of sustainability efforts which was held on 11th March was very well received.

GREEN ART: The Green revolution in fertility care.

A huge leap of faith by the Indian Fertility Society to bring about sustainable changes in the way ART is practised in India.
Small steps forward but big intent to be eco conscious .
This project started under aegis of IFS,the brainchild of Indian Fertility society intends to lower the carbon footprint of the ART sector in India and support 'Make in India' initiatives to reduce scope 3 emissions considerably and bolster local economic opportunities of the sector.
9 Green teams created with enthusiastic clinicians and embryologists from across the country .
First national CME webinar done on 29th January to put forward the ideation.

The Green ART program, a novel program on sustainability by IFS.
The journey started from the point where the President IFS,Dr Col Pankaj Talwar wanted to deliver the IFS President's Oration at Fertivision in December 2024 on a topic which bore an enormous impact but a topic the IVF fraternity was not talking about.

After the Oration which was applauded for its socially conscious perspective, President IFS Dr Col Pankaj Talwar and Gen Sec IFS Dr Shweta Mittal decided with blessings of our respected Mentor Dr Sonia Malik to take up the project-GREEN ART- to spread awareness and do course correction on ground to bring down carbon emissions of the IVF sector .
The launch of the program was done on 7th January 2025.
