Government has notified a new Excise Law where cigarette duties have been increased massively:
Earlier: ₹200–₹735 per 1,000 sticks
Now: ₹2,700–₹11,000 per 1,000 sticks 😳
Why?
Because India has nearly 130 million smokers and to***co kills over 1 million people every year in our country alone.
Many people smoke because of “stress”, “peer pressure” or habit…

Delhi is officially in Severe Plus AQI.
GRAP Stage-4 has been activated — the highest emergency pollution level.

Schools are moving to hybrid/online classes, outdoor activities are suspended, construction work is banned, old petrol and diesel vehicles are restricted, and offices have been asked to allow 50% work from home.

This is not a suggestion.
This is a public health emergency.

When the air itself becomes unsafe to breathe, productivity, education and normal life cannot continue as usual.

Most of us think accidents only happen on highways, at high speed, or due to “big mistakes.”
But in India, thousands of people die every year because of the smallest, most avoidable lapses — loose clothes, hanging dupattas, saree ends, untucked shawls, bags stuck in wheels, even earphones blocking awareness.

A friend’s relative lost her life this way.
Dragged by a tractor… only because a loose end of her clothing got caught.
One second of unawareness. One wrong angle. A lifetime gone.

And this isn’t rare.
Studies on accidental deaths in India show that over 12–15% of road-related fatalities happen due to entanglement, falls, and non-collision accidents — the kind we never think about until it hits someone close.
These are the “small mistakes” that steal lives quietly.

Public… this is not drama. This is real life.
Loose clothes, hanging fabric, scarves near moving vehicles — especially tractors, rickshaws, autos, bikes — are deadly traps.

Delhi continues to hold the title of the world’s most polluted capital city. India is also one of the largest contributors to plastic waste, ranking among the highest producers of mismanaged plastic and ocean-bound plastic leakage. On the economic side, inequality is extreme—the top 10 percent of Indians hold 77 percent of the country’s total wealth. Population remains one of the largest in the world, putting enormous pressure on resources, cities, jobs and infrastructure. India also records some of the highest road accident deaths globally, with more than 1.6 lakh fatalities every single year. When you look closely at the data, the truth is simple: we are not suffering because of a lack of talent or potential—we are suffering because we refuse to confront the facts.
