Ladakh witnessed fresh turmoil on Friday after activist Sonam Wangchuk was arrested by Leh Police during protests that have so far claimed four lives and left more than 90 injured. The demonstrations, led jointly by Wangchuk, the Leh Apex Body, and the Kargil Democratic Alliance, center around demands for full statehood and Sixth Schedule protections under the Constitution.
Wangchuk, who had earlier undertaken a 15-day hunger strike from September 10 to 24, 2025, called it off citing rising violence. His arrest has further sharpened tensions, placing the spotlight on Ladakh’s long-standing struggle for political rights and constitutional safeguards.

Maa Skandamata is worshipped on the fifth day of Navratri. She is the mother of Lord Kartikeya (also called Skanda), the commander-in-chief of the divine army.
She represents motherly compassion and courage. Sitting on a lotus, she is also called Padmasana Devi and symbolizes purity, devotion, and fearlessness.
Devotees believe her worship grants wisdom, strength, and prosperity, while also guiding them toward moksha (liberation).
Skandamata holding Lord Skanda shows how divinity and knowledge are nurtured through devotion.

In a sharp rebuke, the Delhi High Court has pulled up two judges for granting a stay on the arrest of an accused whose anticipatory bail had already been rejected by both the High Court and the Supreme Court. Calling it a case of “judicial indiscipline,” the court questioned how lower courts could override clear orders of higher courts. The HC also came down heavily on the police and prosecution for concealing crucial facts about the repeated bail rejections. The matter has now been referred to the Registrar General of the Delhi High Court and the Commissioner of Delhi Police for further action.

Dr. Kunal Tyagi (2019 batch, Veerangana Avantibai Lodhi Medical College, Etah) has taken a firm stand against VIP treatment in hospitals, refusing special favours to politicians or media personalities.
The doctor emphasized that “every patient deserves the same standard of care, regardless of status.” Authorities also noted that VIP demands often disrupt services and compromise fairness.
This move has earned widespread public support and raises a larger question: Should VIP culture in hospitals be abolished nationwide to uphold dignity, fairness, and equal justice in healthcare?

Highway Corruption Exposed in Karnataka
A Highway Patrol officer was allegedly caught on camera demanding a ₹500 bribe from a driver on the Kolhapur–Nippani stretch near Gadhinglaj. The footage, recorded by the victim’s friend, has ignited public outrage.
The video reveals the officer asking for cash without issuing a receipt, raising concerns under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Locals and commuters have demanded urgent accountability and stricter enforcement.
Repeated complaints of bribery on highways expose systemic gaps in policing and oversight. Corruption not only erodes public trust but also undermines democracy. Citizens documenting such incidents play a vital role in demanding transparency and justice.
Shouldn’t highway monitoring be made more transparent to curb such misuse of authority?
