There’s always a brief pause and stillness in this highly anticipated moment. When the book is opened for the first time and the story shifts from months of conversations and drafts into something real and tangible, held in hands.

That brief pause, the way the pages are turned slowly, the eyes lingering a little longer. Here is Mr. S.C. Bajaj, opening his biography on his 75th birthday.

𝙸𝚗 𝚀𝚞𝚒𝚎𝚝 𝙿𝚞𝚛𝚜𝚞𝚒𝚝: 𝙻𝚒𝚏𝚎 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝙻𝚎𝚜𝚜𝚘𝚗𝚜 𝚘𝚏 𝙳𝚛. 𝚂.𝚂. 𝙱𝚑𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚊𝚛𝚒✨

Meeting Surendra Uncle and listening to his story felt like sitting with a life shaped by curiosity, discipline, and an unshakeable pursuit of knowledge. From the lanes of Udaipur to traversing cities, departments, and responsibilities within the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), his journey is one of learning with humility and purpose.

As we worked on ‘In Quiet Pursuit’ and its Hindi translation, ‘एक सहज साधना: डॉ एस. एस. भंडारी की प्रेरणास्पद जीवन यात्रा’, we were reminded of something that resonates deeply with the work that we do.

With every book, we realise how the final outcome slowly, almost unknowingly, becomes a reflection of the person themselves—their values, their journeys and their way of being. Almost like an extension of who they are. Seeing this book come so close to Surendra Uncle’s essence fills us with immense pride and gratitude. Knowing that we were able to honour his life in a way that feels true to him and to his family, means everything to us! 🤍

Released on his 80th birthday, surrounded by his sons, their families, siblings, and loved ones, this book now belongs where it always did: with the people who have walked alongside his journey.

A life lived in quiet pursuit.
A story now preserved, forever.

Story Time! ✨

It all started on a regular workday in March of 2025. Just one of those days where a small idea slips into conversation and quietly stays.

What if we could tell not just one, but many stories through a single book? What if we could create space for the kind of voices that often go unheard?

We sat with that thought. Talked about it for days. Jotted notes. Wondered what it might look like. And slowly, something started to take shape. Something that felt honest and powerful. That’s how Kagaz Anthologies came to life - a collaborative archive of stories, memories and reflections.

We chose “A Room That Changed Me” as our first theme because we’ve all been part of spaces that stayed with us. Sometimes they were joyful, sometimes painful. But they shifted something inside us. And for many q***r individuals, rooms whether real or symbolic, have been places of solitude, secrecy, transformation, and truth. We wanted to hold space for those rooms, and for the people who’ve lived through them.

No longer was this just about writing.
It was about remembering, returning, and allowing stories to live beyond us.
