15 years ago, people are now digging up an old statement of Sourav Ganguly, saying he once commented about women’s cricket. But let’s be honest — how many of us even cared about women’s cricket back then?
After a historic win by our women’s team last night, instead of celebrating, a few have started criticizing Dada. But before speaking, please know the full truth — it was Sourav Ganguly who took the initiative for the first Women’s Premier League (WPL) when he was BCCI President. He was also the one who ensured equal pay for men and women cricketers, breaking barriers that existed for decades.
Even now, he continues to support the women’s game as coach of Delhi Capitals. This man has always worked for Indian cricket — silently, powerfully, and with unmatched passion.
Before you judge him, learn about him. Sourav Ganguly is not just a name — he’s a chapter in world cricket, and we should read it fully before we speak.
We have no right to criticize the man who changed Indian cricket forever. Let’s celebrate both — our women’s victory and the legacy of our DADA. ❤️🙏
