Major intelligence-led action in Bikaner! Military Intelligence (MI), CID and Rajasthan Police have jointly seized around 600 grams of Ambergris, commonly known as “whale vomit,” estimated to be worth ₹70 lakh to ₹1 crore in the illegal market. Three individuals, including two minors and one adult identified as Javed, have been detained.

Preliminary investigation suggests the Ambergris was allegedly brought from Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, for supply in Bikaner. Authorities are now probing the source of the substance, its transportation route, the suspected supply chain and the intended buyer.

Major joint operation in Bikaner! Military Intelligence (MI), CID-CB and Kotegate Police have reportedly seized around 650 grams of suspected Ambergris, popularly known as “whale vomit,” with an estimated value of approximately ₹65 lakh. Three people have been arrested in connection with the alleged illegal trade of the rare substance.

Ambergris is associated with s***m whales and has historically been valued by the luxury perfume and fragrance industry for its distinctive properties and ability to help fragrances last longer. The seizure has raised questions over the source of the material, its route to Bikaner and the identity of the intended buyer.

Investigators are also examining possible inter-state links involving Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh. The seized substance is expected to undergo scientific examination to establish its authenticity, while further investigation will determine whether the case is limited to the arrested individuals or connected to a larger wildlife-trafficking network.

Punjab Police Secures First-Ever Extradition From Europe, Gangster Amritpal Singh Brought Back From Moldova

In a major blow to transnational organised crime, Punjab Police has secured the extradition of fugitive criminal Amritpal Singh alias Amrit Dalam, a key operative of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria Gang, from the Republic of Moldova.

According to Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, Singh is wanted in multiple cases involving murder, attempt to murder, UAPA, Arms Act and narcotics offences. The extradition marks the first-ever extradition secured by Punjab Police from a European country.

The operation, named Operation Eastern Reach, was a six-month intelligence-led international manhunt involving sustained surveillance and close coordination between the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab, Overseas Fugitive Tracking and Extradition Cell (OFTEC) Punjab, central agencies and international partners.

Punjab Police thanked the authorities of Moldova and Azerbaijan, along with the IPCU-CBI, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs and other agencies, for their cooperation.

The development underscores Punjab Police's expanding international efforts to track down fugitives hiding abroad and bring them back to India to face the law.
