The Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) Council on Wednesday struck a compromise with the human resource development ministry on the new pattern of entrance examinations.

Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT-D) has decided to conduct its own entrance examination, rejecting the plan by the government to conduct a single entrance examination from 2013. IIT Kanpur had recently said that it would conduct its own entrance test.
