𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗜 𝗣𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗨𝗘 𝗖𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗞𝗗𝗢𝗪𝗡 𝗢𝗡 𝗡𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗦, 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥 𝟲.𝟯 𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗠𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗔
𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶, 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟬𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲: Continuing its relentless drive against drug trafficking under the 𝗡𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗮 𝗠𝘂𝗸𝘁 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗺𝘂 & 𝗞𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗶𝗿 𝗔𝗯𝗵𝗶𝘆𝗮𝗻, Reasi Police achieved another success by apprehending a drug peddler and recovering contraband substance from his possession.
During naka checking at Balni Naka on 31.05.2026, a police party of Police Station Katra intercepted an electric auto bearing registration No. JK20C-8618, which was coming from Katra and heading towards Reasi. The vehicle was being driven by Anil Sharma, S/o Shubash Chander, R/o Saroon Aghar Jitto, Tehsil Katra, District Reasi.
During the checking, the police party recovered approximately 6.3 grams of he**in (Chitta) from the possession of the accused. Acting promptly, the accused was taken into custody and the contraband was seized as per legal procedures.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 166/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and investigation has been taken up to ascertain the source and intended destination of the recovered contraband.
Reasi Police remains committed to eradicating the menace of drugs from society and appeals to the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by sharing information related to drug trafficking and substance abuse.
