43 units of blood collected in Zirakpur

Zirakpur : To Meet the Shortage of Blood in Hospitals Vishvas Foundation Panchkula and Indian Red Cross Society District Branch Mohali organised a Blood Donation Camp in Zirakpur with the blessings of Gurudev Shri Swami Vishvas Ji.

This blood donation camp was organized Opposite Metro Store in Zirakpur. The team of Blood Bank AM Care Blood Centre Zirakpur collected 43 units of blood under the supervision of Dr. Kartik Agarwal.
Sadhvi Neelima Vishvas, President of Vishvas Foundation, said that people have a misconception that donating blood causes weakness in the body. There is no weakness due to blood donation, rather everyone must donate blood once in 90 days. This helps the needy as well as keeps the body healthy. A noble deed like blood donation is considered the greatest service.

All the blood donors who came to this blood donation camp were encouraged by giving them appreciation letters and gifts. On this occasion Rishi Shashwat Vishvas, Rakesh Garg, Pawan Garg, Sandeep Parmar and other dignitaries from Vishvas Foundation were present.

GMBCA Announces Mega Uttar Pradesh Trials to Select 13,000 Players for International Cricket

Lucknow : The GM Box Cricket Association (GMBCA) today announced the launch of Mega Tennis Ball Box Cricket Trials across Uttar Pradesh State aimed at selecting 13,000 talented boys and girls for its Season 1 Players Pool. The announcement was made during a press conference held at the Press Club, UP.

Speaking at the event, Baba Inder Preet Singh, Founder, GMBCA, said “This recognised and formally organised mass-level tennis ball box cricket initiative is designed to create a strong positive social impact. It will help address critical issues such as drug abuse, immigration practices, and income opportunities among UP's youth by providing them with a professional sporting career pathway.”

The trials are open to boys and girls aged 15 to 45 years and will be conducted district-wise across UP, beginning January 2026 onwards, at multiple venues. The nominal registration fee is Rs. 900.

Selected players will gain opportunities to earn Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 60,000 per month, and potentially Rs. 40–60 lakh annually through a combination of match fees, league participation, and endorsements, creating a viable income source through professional tennis ball box cricket.

GMBCA has also invited cricket tournament organisers, cricket academies, and coaches to associate as District Coordinators across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

Rakesh Rastogi (UP State Coordinator) and Sukhwinder Singh Sokhi (Delhi State Coordinator) shared their experiences, highlighting the overwhelming response and active participation of youth in their respective states.
Other members of the coordinating committee present at the press meet included Mukesh Chauhan, Gurpreet Kaur, Neha and Rahul.

Trials are planned across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, and Maharashtra. The detailed schedule will be announced shortly on www.gmbca.org.

Two Professional Platforms for Selected Players

Platform 1: Gali Mohalla Cricket League (GMCL) – Season 1 (2025–26)

Selected players in categories of batsman, bowler, wicket-keeper, and all-rounder will get an opportunity to participate in the GMCL Season 1. Teams will be formed state-wise by a GMBCA expert panel to compete in district, state, national, and international league matches. Participants will have the chance to win prize money of Rs. 11 lakh for National Winners and Rs. 5 lakh for Runners-up.

Platform 2: GMBCA Players Pool & Global Opportunities

Post trials, GMBCA will create a category-wise players pool and conduct professional training camps. Player profiles will be compiled and shared with national and international tennis ball box cricket tournament organisers, franchise owners, and cricket boards.

This platform will enable selected players to compete domestically and internationally, earning through match fees, endorsements, and professional contracts, thereby building a sustainable career in tennis ball box cricket.

In a strong move towards enhancing women’s safety and empowerment, the Sports, Physical Education, Fitness & Leisure Skill Council (SPEFL-SC), under the leadership of *CEO Mr. Tahsin Zahid, has launched a self-defence training programme supported by the Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment.

कालिदास ऑडिटोरियम में संतूर और स्वर का अलौकिक संगम

पटियाला : नॉर्थ ज़ोन कल्चरल सेंटर, पटियाला द्वारा आयोजित पटियाला संगीत समारोह के समापन दिवस पर कालिदास ऑडिटोरियम में एक ऐसी यादगार संगीत संध्या सजी, जिसने पूरे आयोजन को गरिमा और सौंदर्य के साथ पूर्णता प्रदान की। अंतिम दिन मंच साझा किया विश्वविख्यात संतूर वादक पं. अभय रुस्तम सोपोरी और बनारस घराने के कश्यप बंधुओं—पं. प्रभाकर कश्यप एवं पं. दिवाकर कश्यप—ने। उनकी संयुक्त प्रस्तुति समारोह का केंद्रीय आकर्षण बनी और श्रोताओं ने इसे भाव-विभोर होकर सराहा।

कश्मीर की सोपोरी–सूफ़ियाना घराना परंपरा के वर्तमान ध्वजवाहक पं. अभय रुस्तम सोपोरी ने संतूर की कोमल, पारदर्शी और आध्यात्मिक झंकार से आरंभ से ही वातावरण को आध्यात्मिक शांति से भर दिया। उनके आलाप और स्वर-संयोजन में कश्मीर की सांगीतिक विरासत की जीवंत अनुभूति होती रही। शास्त्रीय संगीत प्रेमी उनकी विद्वतापूर्ण और भावपूर्ण प्रस्तुति में सहज ही डूबते चले गए।

पं. अभय सोपोरी भारत की प्राचीन संतूर परंपरा और सोपोरी–सूफ़ियाना घराने के वर्तमान ख़लीफ़ा हैं। उन्हें गुरु–शिष्य परंपरा के अंतर्गत अपने दादा स्वर्गीय पं. शंभू नाथ सोपोरी और पिता स्वर्गीय पं. भजन सोपोरी से संगीत की दीक्षा मिली—जिन्हें क्रमशः जम्मू–कश्मीर में ‘संगीत के जनक’ और ‘संतूर के संत’ के रूप में जाना जाता है।

इस अवसर पर उन्होंने स्वयं रचित राग भगवती की प्रस्तुति दी। विस्तृत आलाप और जोड़ के पश्चात विलंबित झपताल में गत, मध्यलय एकताल में “हे मां तू है भवानी, कृपा करो हे भगवती” बंदिश तथा द्रुत तीनताल में सोपोरी गत प्रस्तुत की। उनके वादन में राग की शुद्धता, लय की स्पष्टता और भावों की गहन अभिव्यक्ति विशेष रूप से दृष्टिगोचर हुई।

उनकी प्रस्तुति की विशिष्टता ‘सोपोरी बाज’ रही, जिसमें गायकी और तंत्रकारी अंगों का संतुलित और सशक्त समन्वय देखने को मिला। ‘गायन–वादन बाज’ और ‘बीन अंग’ के जटिल छंद और लय संयोजन ने प्रस्तुति को विशिष्ट ऊँचाई दी। पखावज संगत के साथ प्रस्तुत ध्रुपद अंग ने शैव–सूफी परंपरा की आध्यात्मिक चेतना को पुनर्जीवित कर दिया।

तबले पर पं. संजू सहाय और पखावज पर ऋषि शंकर उपाध्याय की सशक्त संगत ने पूरी प्रस्तुति को और अधिक प्रभावशाली बना दिया।

वहीं बनारस घराने की मधुर और भावगर्भी गायकी के प्रतिनिधि कश्यप बंधुओं ने अपनी सुरभरी आवाज़ से संतूर की झंकार को सुंदर संवाद प्रदान किया। खयाल बंदिशों की नज़ाकत, बनारस की विशिष्ट लयकारी और स्वर की कोमलता ने संतूर के साथ ऐसा स्वाभाविक संतुलन रचा कि प्रस्तुति एक संयुक्त संगीत-यात्रा में परिवर्तित हो गई। विशेष रूप से ठुमरी और दादरा की प्रस्तुति ने श्रोताओं को गहराई से प्रभावित किया।

संतूर और स्वर के इस दुर्लभ संगम ने समारोह के अंतिम दिन को एक अविस्मरणीय संगीत-क्षण में बदल दिया—जहाँ परंपरा, साधना, तकनीक और भाव एक साथ साकार होते नज़र आए। प्रस्तुति की समाप्ति पर कालिदास ऑडिटोरियम देर तक तालियों से गूंजता रहा, जो कलाकारों के प्रति दर्शकों के सम्मान और भावनात्मक जुड़ाव का सशक्त प्रमाण था।

इस गरिमामयी संयुक्त प्रस्तुति के साथ पटियाला संगीत समारोह का समापन पुष्प वर्षा से अत्यंत प्रभावशाली ढंग से हुआ। दर्शक एनज़ेडसीसी के निदेशक फ़ुरक़ान ख़ान के नेतृत्व में सृजित इस मधुर सांगीतिक स्मृति को अपने हृदय में संजोए हुए है।

Free Health Check-up Camp: Over 300 People Undergo Medical Examination
– Shri Ram Seva Sangh Plays a Special Role

Zirakpur : On Sunday, a free Health Check-up Camp was Organized at Krishna Enclave in Dhakoli by Shri Ram Seva Sangh in Collaboration with Max Hospital. More than 300 people participated in the camp and availed themselves of various medical check-ups. The free health check-up camp included tests for sugar, blood pressure, ECG, and thyroid, among others. The objective of the camp was to create awareness among the general public about health and to highlight the importance of timely medical examinations.

Shri Ram Seva Sangh founder and BJP State Secretary Sanjeev Khanna was present at the event as the Chief Guest, while President Sudhir Kantiwal attended as the Guest of Honour. On this occasion, Sangh in-charge Vishal Sharma outlined the framework of the camp and stated that similar free service camps would continue to be organized in different areas of Zirakpur in the future.

Shri Ram Seva Sangh’s organization head, Surinder Pahwa, a resident of Krishna Enclave, said that such health camps are a strong medium to inspire society towards a healthy lifestyle. He also appealed to people to undergo regular health check-ups.

Along with the health camp, a community kitchen (Bhandara) was organized under Shri Ram Ji Ki Rasoi, in which more than 400 people partook of the prasad. The initiative was appreciated by local residents, who expressed hope that such social welfare activities would continue in the future.

चंडीगढ़ : समाजसेवा, उद्योग और टीम बिल्डिंग के अनोखे तरीकों के लिए पहचाने जाने वाले धुरंधर समाजसेवी व एंटरप्रेन्योर एम.के. भाटिया एक बार फिर चर्चा में हैं। गत दिवस एम.के. भाटिया अपनी करीब 100युवाओं की टीम के साथ फिल्म ‘धुरंधर’ देखने सिनेमा हॉल पहुँचे। यह महज़ एक फिल्म देखना नहीं था, बल्कि इसके पीछे एक गहरा और प्रेरणादायक संदेश छिपा था।

JSW Sports Backed Haryana Steelers Academy to shape India’s Future Kabaddi Champions Inaugurated

Rohtak : The Haryana Steelers Academy at Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, backed by JSW Sports, has been formally inaugurated. This state-of-the-art facility will be dedicated to nurturing the next generation of kabaddi talent in India.

The Academy will house 30 promising athletes scouted from across India through various trials and tournaments. Aged 17–22, these aspiring athletes will undergo intensive training under the mentorship of Haryana Steelers, the professional kabaddi team of JSW Sports that was crowned Champions of PKL-11 in 2024. This program will help talented players pursue a career in kabaddi through JSW’s New Young Player program, along with athletes from each PKL team who will be groomed for professional sports. These athletes will benefit from innovative and evidence-based training methods designed to build physical and mental excellence, while also having access to upgraded training facilities, expert coaching, and modern sports science support.

The athletes will receive full scholarships covering tuition, hostel accommodation, nutrition, and advanced sports training, ensuring complete financial support. Additionally, they will have access to world-class sports science expertise and cutting-edge facilities, guaranteeing the best resources and professional coaching to train and compete at the highest level. They will also gain competitive experience through grassroots tournaments under the Haryana Steelers banner throughout the year.

Chandigarh : Mount Carmel School, Chandigarh, celebrated its 38th Founders’ Week-cum-Annual Day and Annual Function 2025 with grandeur and heartfelt thanksgiving at the Tagore Theatre on 2nd and 3rd December 2025. Organised under the visionary leadership of the Founders and Directors, Dr. Earnest Charles J. Samuel and Dr. Annie Charles Samuel, alongwith the guidance of Principal Dr. Parveena John Singh, the celebrations reflected the school’s ethos of gratitude, excellence, values and holistic development.The occasion held added significance as it coincided with the birthday of Founder and Director, Dr. Earnest Charles J. Samuel.

The Annual Function held on 2nd December 2025, titled “A Symphony of Gratitude -A Celebration of Blessing Called Life,” was graced by Smt. Harpreet Kaur Babla, Mayor of Chandigarh, as the Chief Guest, and Colonel Deepak De, Sena Medal, as the Guest of Honour, accompanied by Mrs. Monika De.

The morning session of 3rd December was dedicated to the young Carmelites who celebrated with innocence and joy under the theme “A Symphony of Gratitude – A Celebration of Blessing Called Life.” The ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest Dr. Gurvinder Pal Thami, Director Principal, GMCH-32, and Guest of Honour Mrs. Surabhi Prashar, Chief Judicial Magistrate, DLSA Mohali.

The evening session was graced by Chief Guest Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, and Guest of Honour Col. Vivek Chaudhry, Sena Medal (Retd.). The programme unfolded with devotional and cultural presentations that expressed gratitude towards the Almighty, parents, mentors, and the nation. Students presented mesmerising performances ranging from Garba and Rajasthani folk to Bengal’s cultural grace, demonstrating creativity, poise, and artistic depth. The audience responded with admiration and appreciation for each thoughtfully curated presentation.The celebration concluded with a powerful grand finale and the National Anthem.

Accolades were bestowed upon Scholastic and Co-scholastic achievers. 44 students were awarded the Best All-round Students’ trophies for the session 2024-25. 97 students of classes VI to XII were awarded for Excellence in Academics for the session 2024-25.
