दिल्ली के Jahangirpuri DDA Market में सरे आम दुकानदारों से हफ्ता वसूली CCTV में कैद हुए बदमाश
For small shopkeepers in Delhi, the challenges are no longer limited to rising costs, fewer customers or running a business in a competitive market. Security has increasingly become a major concern. An alleged extortion incident at the DDA Market in Jahangirpuri has raised serious questions over law and order in the national capital.
The incident reportedly took place on Tuesday evening. According to the complaint, a young man first approached a grocery shop and allegedly demanded 2,000 from the shopkeeper. When the shopkeeper refused to pay, the man reportedly left the spot.
But he allegedly returned after some time—this time carrying a knife.
The accused allegedly threatened the shopkeeper with the knife and forcibly took ₹2,000 from him. What happened next has caused even greater concern among the traders in the market.
The man allegedly went to other shops along with his associates and threatened the shopkeepers. According to the allegations, the group demanded ₹50,000 per month from the traders and reportedly told them that they would return to collect the money.
The incident triggered panic in the market. Shopkeepers came together in protest and shut their shops. A marketplace that would normally be busy with customers suddenly turned into a scene of fear and anger.
