Delhi Chief Minister has issued a strict warning to private schools, stating that parents cannot be forced to buy books, uniforms, or stationery from school-recommended vendors.

"NGOs and stores must clearly state that parents can purchase these items from anywhere. No compulsion will be tolerated," she said.

Gupta added that she will personally inspect schools and take strict action, including potential takeover of institutions found violating norms.

"It is our responsibility to fix Delhi," the CM asserted. The directive aims to ease financial burden on parents and curb exploitative practices by private schools.

In a disturbing incident from Odisha's Keonjhar district, a 50-year-old tribal man, Jeetu Munda, exhumed his deceased sister's skeletal remains and carried them on his shoulder to an Odisha Grameen Bank branch.

His sister, Kalra Munda, died on January 26, 2026. However, bank officials repeatedly refused to release ₹20,000 from her account, insisting on the account holder's physical presence. Illiterate and unaware of legal procedures like death or succession certificates, Munda walked nearly 3 kilometres with her remains to prove she was no more.

Police later intervened. The district administration has now directed the bank to release the funds after completing formalities. The incident has exposed rigid banking processes in rural India.

In a shocking incident at Pune's 15 No. Chowk in Hadapsar, recovery agents from a private finance company allegedly assaulted a man over unpaid credit card dues. The attack occurred in broad daylight on April 27, with multiple agents pinning down the victim in a white shirt and beating him mercilessly as his wife pleaded for mercy.

The video, which has gone viral, has sparked widespread outrage. The agents' actions violate RBI rules that strictly prohibit physical force, threats, and abuse during recovery. Citizens have demanded police action and RBI penalties against the errant firm. While some have blamed the victim for defaulting, others argue that aggressive recovery tactics can never be justified. Police said they are investigating the matter.

A Video showing a woman in a bikini kissing her boyfriend in the Ganga River at Rishikesh has triggered sharp criticism online. Critics argue that public intimacy in India’s holiest river is a sign of "degeneracy," blaming feminists and Western tourism tactics for normalizing such behavior. They claim the bikini was designed to commercialize sacred spaces by using women as "eye candy." Defenders, however, question why the couple’s private moment has become a public spectacle. The incident has reignited a heated debate over cultural modesty, commercialization of faith, and what constitutes acceptable conduct in India’s religious waterways.

A tragic incident on the Jalpaiguri–Ramnagar route has exposed shocking railway negligence. A boy fell from a moving train along with all his luggage. When a female passenger screamed, fellow travelers immediately pulled the emergency chain—but the train refused to stop.

Worse, the traumatized sister received zero assistance from either the onboard TTE or the railway helpline. A viral video now shows the helplessness of passengers and the systemic apathy.

The incident raises serious questions: Why did the emergency chain fail? Why did officials abandon their duty? For families traveling on Bengal's remote routes, this is a wake-up call that no one is coming to help.
