LALSHREE RECOUNTS HER JOURNEY AS A SINGER

Lalshree, who performed on ‘Mausam Hai Aashiqana’ from the film Pakeeza at ‘Choona Aasmaan’ event, said she has been singing since the age of seven. She got into singing at her school, where VIPs and leader visited very often. Lalshree, who also sang Dil Hoom Hoom Kare from the film Rudali was really happy when her singing was praised by everyone. Lalshree, who is proud to be daughter of a farmer, says she was helped by her family especially elder sister Jaishree Verma and Hamid Raza Khan to reach this point today. Initially she used to sing only after listening but now after the advice from some people, Lalshree has started learning music and so far taken only seven classes from classical singer Malvika Bhattacharya. Lalshree’s inspiration is her mother, who at a given point of time used to herself sing Lata Mangeshkar’s song from film ‘Ganga Jamuna’ - Do Hanso Ka Joda Bicchhad Gayo Re being her favorite and is now encouraging her daughter. She thanked Dhoon Foundation for the much needed opportunity and said that she wanted to make it big as a singer and is ready to work hard for it.

Kabir Siddiqui OUTLINES THE OBJECTIVES OF MAHIR

Kabir Siddiqui who was previously associated with the Rehabilitation Council of India as Media Head, told VRNeighbours that he started the ‘ WE THE PEOPLE INDIA’ keeping in mind the concept of 3S and to work on issues like Awareness and Accessibility. The project started with web channel to cover event has now started work along with Dhoon Foundation [music for therapy & enrichment]. At an event, along with performances by persons with disabilities, a web portal named Mahir was launched that will sell quality products made by persons with disabilities online, offline and to the corporate. The portal has been named Mahir to alter the general notion among masses that persons with disabilities cannot do anything. The need is to train these people using their special abilities. Mahir was launched by Dr J P Singh and Poonam Natarajantrajan among others.
