Over the past two years ,Motilal Nehru College have been actively involved in various youth oriented activities ,ranging from social entrepreneurship to personal development and cultural society of the college have also performed outstandingly in last season. VISUAL BLOGGERS’ CLUB BY BLUEGAPE
Bluegape,the company known for its visual blogging with systematic categorizing the interest of the users, has introduced their individual club in our college,Visual Blogging Club, with an aim to promote visual blogging and connect college students through same.
Bluegape is giving six months membership to students where members have to meet various blogging targets set by the company. Apart from certificates and letter of recommendations, the company is also giving a bonus gifts and cash prizes at inter and intra college level bloggers depending upon various standards. Membership offered is completely work from home, which fits the requirement of any student looking for an exposure in content writing.
Bluegape club of our college has currently 32 members with 2 marketing associates.

Motilal Nehru College Unit of Leader for tomorrow will be organizing an adopt a plant drive in college campus on Tuesday,22 September 2015 where it will be encouraging students to adopt a plant in college campus .The plantation drive is open for all the students and teachers of the college.

Central Placement Cell, Delhi University

A placement cell by Delhi university, open to all the students of the university, aims to make the student a successful professional.
To be the part of the cell one has to register on their website www.placement.du.ac.in and pay 100 rupees as the one time registration fee.
“The CPC will act as an interface between the industry and the students, and will primarily enable the students to select from their career options. We shall facilitate the selection process of all the companies as per their requirement.”

Counseling for employment

Apart from this, the cell also conducts various workshops and seminars to help students become successful professionals.

Devesh Kumar Singh, A third year student pursuing English (hons), is contesting for the post of President as an independent candidate. His agendas cover critical and major issues faced by college students which shall have larger impact in the college if worked out properly. They're very versatile and are for every college student coming from a different background of the nation. Some of them are as follows :
SANITATION
Devesh plans to improve canteen hygiene by closely working with the canteen committee in college. In order to keep the campus clean , he aims to motivate students through various means. He also aims to work closely with peon staff of college to maintiain hygine in college washrooms
WOMEN SECURITY
After witnessing various violent, snatching cases around the campus and mental pressure, Devesh strongly promotes women security in college and also plans to improvise the girls room and also hopes to get a permanent counsellor for students in college to help them to deal with psyhcological problems. He also aims to organize self defense workshop on regular bases by collaborating with Delhi Police.
TECHNO INSIGHT
Devesh aims to sychronize adminstration with students through installing audio boxes in each class so that students can stay updated about latest news and updated about teacher's schedule.He also plans to work closely with administration to get ATM service installed in college
MINORITIES
Devesh aims to uplift the north easterns and other minorities in college by creating ample opportunities in college fests and other events,He also plans to provide a seperate room to minorities if needed
Other than these major agendas he also plans to facilitate dispensary and stationary in college
The agendas he is pitching is highly appreciated by the college teachers and college students .
When asked about the other candidates contesting for the same post “I am not asking people to vote for me directly,but even if you vote for someone you should know the reason to vote that person and that’s what democracy is ,its about informed citizenship ” said Devesh. we also asked about what else he wants his audience to know .he replied “Ballot number 1 ,Devesh Kumar Singh for the post of president."

Sehdev Malik, a first year student of eco(hons),is contesting in college elections for the post of secretary as an independent candidate and his agendas are based on creation of equality in students whereby he believes the need to have a boy’s common room just like there exists one for girls. Moreover, overlooked problems are also being covered by him so that better services are provided in college, from providing better wifi connectivity to maintaining hygiene standards within the college canteen and improvising the timetable system so that students don’t have to wait for hours to attend classes.

With college elections round the corner , students are witnessing various campaigns from the expected candidates participating for college elections, with their respective agendas ,which vary from water cooler to better wifi connectivity.
Many students represent famous political parties like ABVP,NSUI ,CYSS and students also participate as an independent candidate.

The Third Dimension aims to educate their readers about the agendas of each candidate, educate them about the college problems and also survey students about the problem they face .

Archon, Leadership and Personal Development cell, is a newly established cell in Motilal Nehru College, started in March. The cell is based on a very simple idea, to give students a platform which facilitates personal development and leadership qualities. In order to do so, the cell focuses in organizing events like,
Leadership summits
Speaker sessions
Personal development workshops
Panel discussions
Online debating

Archon organized their first event on 6 April, 2015 which was based on team building and case study analysis. The event report was also featured in DUbeat.com and HTcampus.com.
The cell witnessed a very positive response from the college students and was also appreciated by the college administration.
Being just 4 months old , the cell received whopping 140+ applications in their recruitment.

Archon being the single cell in the college of this kind, looks very promising by the way it functions .
When asked about the inspiration to start this cell, Pratham Sawant, founder of the cell said "We believe that a diamond in rough is just a rock but when polished is worth millions, it is just a beginning and this initiative will help us polish our rough edges to harness our true potential and lead ourselves to a great future ahead."
