NSCN-K (Ang Mai-Mülatonu) Position on the NSO Statement Regarding the NSCN-YA and KIA Issue

The NSCN-K (Ang Mai-Mülatonu) categorically rejects the recent statement issued by the National Students Organization (NSO) concerning the situation between NSCN-YA and a unit of the Kachin Independence Army (KIA). The statement is not only premature but politically irresponsible, and it serves the interests of certain individuals and groups attempting to exploit ethnic identities for their own agenda. We view this as a deliberate provocation aimed at destabilizing long-standing ethnic harmony and dragging the Nagas and Kachins into a broader regional conflict that benefits no one.

For centuries, the Tangshang Nagas and the Kachins have shared a deep bond rooted in mutual respect, cooperation, and shared cultural heritage. This relationship has remained resilient despite shifting political landscapes. The NSCN-K, which is currently in a formal ceasefire agreement with the Government of Myanmar, has consistently advocated for peaceful coexistence and dialogue. We maintain constructive and respectful relations with all ethnic armed organizations in and around the Naga region.

We firmly believe that the issue at hand is a localized misunderstanding between NSCN-YA and a specific KIA unit — not a matter to be politicized or escalated by external actors. NSCN-K (Ang Mai-Mülatonu) urges all concerned stakeholders to exercise political maturity and refrain from making statements that could inflame ethnic tensions or undermine the fragile peace we have worked tirelessly to uphold.

Our vision remains clear: to build a stable, united, and mutually respectful relationship with all ethnic nationalities. We will not be swayed by divisive narratives and will continue to stand for the rights, dignity, and unity of the Naga people while honoring our enduring brotherhood with the Kachin community

The Mobile-6 Unit of the Naga Army under NSCN-K (Angmai-Mulatonu) is being deployed to reinforce and establish a permanent presence in the Khiamniungan Region. This unit will later be augmented with additional Naga Army forces to secure the former Tisari Region in Eastern Nagaland, particularly the areas between Homalin and Hkhamti.

As part of its mission, the unit is also being deployed to safeguard and restore normalcy along the so-called Indo-Myanmar border — stretching from the eastern part of Phek District in the so-called State of Nagaland, up northward to DAN (ITC) in Noklak District.

CNTC appeal the GOI and NSCN-K (Ang Mai-Mulatonu) to enter into a bilateral cease-fire to find a common ground towards peace and Political solution to the Indo-naga probiem.
Peace and progress is the crucial need of the hour and CNTC is happy to learn the positive progress of the Government of India and NSCN-K (Ang Mai- Mulatonu) in starting a dialogue which is a welcome step towards building confidence to sort out differences over a negotiating table desisting violence.

If Guns and violence could bring any solution, Northeast and particularly Naga people and the Government of India would have achieved decades ago but violence only begets violence. CNTC appreciates the wisdom of the Government of India and the NSCN-K (Ang Mai - Mulatonu) in realising the need for seeking a peaceful means in having a dialogue instead of choosing the path of bloodshed and vengeance.

Thus, CNTC appeals to both the interested party to make the rogress a reality soon and begin to take the path of "Ahimsa" the path that Gandhiji promoted around the world in letter and in spirit.

EASTERN NAGALAND GBs UNION ( ENPO GB'S UNION ) CALLS FOR IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE BETWEEN GoI AND NSCN-K (ANGMAI-MULATONU)

The Eastern Naga Gaon Burahs (ENPO GBs) Union, representing the Gaon Burahs from all six districts—Tuensang, Mon, Longleng, Kiphire, Noklak, and Shamator—and the eight tribes of Eastern Nagaland—Konyak, Chang,Khiamniungan,
Tikhir, Phom, Sangtam, Yimkhiung, EasternSumi.—stands united as the traditional custodian of our people, land, and peace

We strongly and unequivocally appeal to the Government of India and the NSCN-K (Angmai-Mulatonu) faction to enter into a formal ceasefire agreement without further delay. The urgency of the situation demands immediate and sincere action to prevent further bloodshed and suffering.

The Eastern Naga GBs Union fully endorses and supports the call of the Nagaland Gaon Burahs Federation for a ceasefire between the GoI and NSCN-K (Angmai-Mulatonu) as an essential step toward a comprehensive, inclusive, and early political solution to the long-standing Naga issue. Our people have endured decades of conflict, and it is time for peace to prevail across Nagaland and particularly in the Eastern Naga areas.

The grassroots leadership, embodied by the Gaon Burahs, has always stood for stability, justice, and the well-being of the people. Today, we reaffirm that we cannot and will not accept further violence in our lands. The time has come for all stakeholders—the Government of India, the NSCN-K (Angmai-Mulatonu), and all Naga political groups—to rise above narrow interests and act in the true spirit of Naga unity and reconciliation.

We call upon all parties to honour the aspirations of the Naga people. A ceasefire is not merely a symbolic gesture, but a critical and foundational step toward realizing the long-cherished dream of a peaceful and honourable Naga political solution.

Let this be a turning point. Let peace and dialogue replace bloodshed and division.
