A fire erupted at Phaipijang, Full Nagarjan, Dimapur, at around 8:34 AM on October 23, 2025. The Dimapur Fire Station (Central) swiftly responded and brought the situation under control. Eight houses were affected in the incident, though no casualties have been reported.

The NSCN-K (Angmai-Mulatonu) reiterates, as stated on June 16, 2024, that it has not authorized any individual or entity to collect taxes within the state. The NSCN-K has been informed that certain individuals are fraudulently collecting taxes under the guise of the NSCN-K from businesses in and around Dimapur.

The NSCN-K urges the public and business owners to verify any claims of tax collection by contacting the number below before making any payments. Any establishment that makes payments to such fraudsters shall do so at its own risk.

Furthermore, the NSCN-K issues a stern warning to Mr. Sukhai Awomi, S/o Hevuxu Awomi, presently residing at Super Market, and others engaged in these fraudulent activities: cease immediately or face severe consequences in accordance with the Yehzabo of the Government.

The NSCN-K (Angmai-Mulatonu) has ensured that peace is sustained along the borders and beyond, through its influence and cooperation. This stability has been diligently maintained. While the NSCN-K remains resolute in its commitment to uphold peace, it must be acknowledged that peace never comes without a price. Any attempt at delay tactics will bear no positive outcome.

The NSCN-K (Angmai-Mulatonu) is not under the payroll of any government or political party, but functions solely by the will and mandate of the people. Our patience must neither be tested nor taken for granted. NSCN-K is not without OPTIONS.

While the NSCN-K (Angmai-Mulatonu) stands firm in its support for peace and a lasting solution, such goodwill must not be misused or underestimated.
On 23/05/2024, the NSCN-K (Angmai-Mulatonu) made its position unambiguously clear: any support for a solution will be above the Framework Agreement and the Agreed Position. For any temporary agreement or arrangement to be considered, it will only be after a formal ceasefire with the Government of India (GoI).

The call for a ceasefire between the NSCN-K (Angmai-Mulatonu) and the GoI is not merely an organizational demand, but a people’s mandate, strongly backed by several civil society organizations (CSOs), striving for an early, acceptable, and inclusive solution.

NSCN-K (Ang Mai-Mülatonu) Position on the NSO Statement Regarding the NSCN-YA and KIA Issue

The NSCN-K (Ang Mai-Mülatonu) categorically rejects the recent statement issued by the National Students Organization (NSO) concerning the situation between NSCN-YA and a unit of the Kachin Independence Army (KIA). The statement is not only premature but politically irresponsible, and it serves the interests of certain individuals and groups attempting to exploit ethnic identities for their own agenda. We view this as a deliberate provocation aimed at destabilizing long-standing ethnic harmony and dragging the Nagas and Kachins into a broader regional conflict that benefits no one.

For centuries, the Tangshang Nagas and the Kachins have shared a deep bond rooted in mutual respect, cooperation, and shared cultural heritage. This relationship has remained resilient despite shifting political landscapes. The NSCN-K, which is currently in a formal ceasefire agreement with the Government of Myanmar, has consistently advocated for peaceful coexistence and dialogue. We maintain constructive and respectful relations with all ethnic armed organizations in and around the Naga region.

We firmly believe that the issue at hand is a localized misunderstanding between NSCN-YA and a specific KIA unit — not a matter to be politicized or escalated by external actors. NSCN-K (Ang Mai-Mülatonu) urges all concerned stakeholders to exercise political maturity and refrain from making statements that could inflame ethnic tensions or undermine the fragile peace we have worked tirelessly to uphold.

Our vision remains clear: to build a stable, united, and mutually respectful relationship with all ethnic nationalities. We will not be swayed by divisive narratives and will continue to stand for the rights, dignity, and unity of the Naga people while honoring our enduring brotherhood with the Kachin community

The Mobile-6 Unit of the Naga Army under NSCN-K (Angmai-Mulatonu) is being deployed to reinforce and establish a permanent presence in the Khiamniungan Region. This unit will later be augmented with additional Naga Army forces to secure the former Tisari Region in Eastern Nagaland, particularly the areas between Homalin and Hkhamti.

As part of its mission, the unit is also being deployed to safeguard and restore normalcy along the so-called Indo-Myanmar border — stretching from the eastern part of Phek District in the so-called State of Nagaland, up northward to DAN (ITC) in Noklak District.
