Motto: Think knowledge

Heritage Publishing House is a registered publishing House based in Dimapur Nagaland.

Since its inception in 2008, it has been pioneering the work of Book Publishing in promoting Naga Literature and taking it worldwide. From humble beginnings in 2008, today it has become the melting point of knowledge production of the Nagas and taking Naga literature and writing to a wider readership. Heritage Publishing House today boasts of over hundred books including journals which are largely

on academics in the areas of traditional culture, folklore, history, politics, religion, society and emerging narratives. Some of the books published by Heritage Publishing House are used as text books by students in Nagaland Colleges. Heritage Publishing House is headed by Dr. Lanusangla Tzudir who is the proprietor, publisher and Chief Editor, has a Ph. D in Modern History from the Centre for Historical Studies, JNU, New Delhi and a proper certificate course on publishing to her credit. Her untiring endeavor of going through the various intricate process of publishing and promoting, takes Naga literature and writing to her people and to the outside world. Literature in Nagaland is at a crucial juncture. For generations our literature - culture, history and narratives etc has been handed down through an oral tradition giving a definite shape to our identity. Today, orality is fast disappearing which is further compounded by the fast dying out of the raconteurs. As such there is an urgent need to publish Naga Literature in print so that the coming younger generations can trace back to their roots. Today the digital world has set a rapid tone of digitization including books which is perhaps perceived as a seeming threat but no matter what, print and digital cannot replace the other and will go hand in hand even in the days to come. We will continuously labor in publishing and promoting the works of Naga writers and authors for which urgency is felt. Besides, we will continue to organise books fairs and literary festivals and seminars to produce an effect towards creating an intellectual environment which is the mark of any civilized society and thereby produce a positive report on Knowledge of the Nagas.

Undying Spirit of Freedom, Autobiography of Late Rtd. Gen. Mowu was released by his wife Mrs. Tiala Mowu at her residence in Dimapur in the presence of family, well-wishers and the publisher.
Dr. Walunir, in his review of the book, writes, The book “Undying Spirit of Freedom recounts the joy and satisfaction emanating from horror and pain of serving the people in dire circumstances amidst friends and foes, pain and persistence, torture and tolerance, despair and providence in the face of powerful forces-wilderness and enemy.” In Gen. Mowu’s words, “only peace-loving people struggle for freedom and liberation... because peace does not mean living under one foreign government and tyrannical authority. Peace does not mean to surrender our rights of self-determination and freedom to surrender our country to the outsider.” Dr. Walunir adds, “Undying Spirit of Freedom is the story of a selfless national fighter, who, with his comrades, with steadfast moral integrity and unwavering conviction to the cause of Naga Nationalism, gave all he had and could for all those who believe in freedom.”
The book is available at Fusion Store, Dimapur, Books and Books, Dimapur, OM Books, Dimapur, and online at www.ilandlo.com.

“A Naga Story” authored by Edward Lotha was released on 24th June 2020 in Kohima by Revered Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima Diocese. While congratulating the author, Rev. Dr. James Thoppil said that what Edward is elucidating through the book is A Naga Story in a very simple narrative of a contemporary life experience of most Naga youth in a multi-cultural and multiracial context of a macro world that offers limitless choices. He mentioned that at the end of reading the book, one gets a glimpse into the realistic picture of push and pulls the contemporary Naga youth faces in life, both with its utopian and unrealistic expectations and the actual struggles and concrete daily reality one is confronted.

In his speech, the author said, A Naga Story is a contextualised perspective within a simple story. He wrote the book in the context of racism among others from his lived experiences and he hopes to instil in the Naga youth a sense of self-esteem and feel proud to be a Naga through the book.

The book will be available at Books and Books, Dimapur, OM Books, Dimapur, Fusion Store, Dimapur, Heritage Publishing House, Dimapur, Crossword, Kohima and www.ilandlo.com.
