Congress Slams BJP, CEM Tuliram Ronghang in Press Meet at Diphu

Diphu, July 19:
The Karbi Anglong District Congress Committee (KADCC) held a press meet today at around 11:00 AM at their office premises in Diphu. The committee strongly criticized the current BJP-led administration and raised serious allegations against the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Dr. Tuliram Ronghang.

Speaking to the media, the Congress leaders made the following key points:

1. Corruption Allegations Against CEM
The party alleged that Dr. Tuliram Ronghang is "the most corrupt person" among all Sixth Schedule leaders in the region, accusing him of misusing public funds and compromising the integrity of the Autonomous Council.

2. Failure to Implement Sixth Schedule Provisions
Congress leaders claimed that the BJP government has failed to implement the core provisions of the Sixth Schedule in Karbi Anglong, stating that the party lacks both the will and capability to uphold the constitutional safeguards meant for tribal areas.

3. Corporate Land Grabs in the Name of Development
The committee further alleged that under the BJP regime, large tracts of land under the Sixth Schedule have been handed over to multi-millionaire companies under the guise of “development,” thereby threatening the rights and existence of the indigenous population.
