| PMGSY Culvert Collapses in Gundoh Gill, 1 Labourer Dead, Several Injured

Gundoh, Doda: A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Gill area of Gundoh after an under-construction culvert being built under the PMGSY project suddenly collapsed during ongoing construction work.

Officials said around 11 labourers were working at the site when the structure caved in unexpectedly. Soon after the incident, rescue teams and local administration rushed to the spot and launched rescue operations.

SDM Gundoh, Arun Kumar Butyal said that the incident took place at around 2:30 PM when the shuttering of the culvert suddenly gave way. He confirmed that one labourer has been declared dead, while five injured workers have been referred to Government Medical College Doda for advanced treatment. The remaining injured labourers are being treated locally.

He further stated that Police, SOG, Medical teams and the local administration are continuously monitoring the situation, while rescue operations are still underway at the site.
