On behalf of the old and historic Sanatan Dharma Sabha Doda (previously headed by eminent personalities like Shri Gajay Ji, Shri Raman Ji, Shri Ajay Ji, and Shri Vishwamitra Ji), the community is informed that some individuals are misleading the public by claiming to be representatives of the Sanatan Dharma Sabha, with the aim of creating confusion and controversy within the community.

As the current President of the Sanatan Dharma Sabha, I would like to make it absolutely clear through this press release that no meeting of any kind has been called by the Sanatan Dharma Sabha for tomorrow.

There is only one Sanatan Dharma Sabha in Doda, and it has only one President. The people of Doda do not accept any other organization or individual who is illegally claiming to be the President or representative.

Hindu Community Holds Unity Meeting Over Radhe Sham Mandir Dispute, Extends Support to Gagan Rana

Doda, August 26, 2026: Amid the ongoing dispute surrounding Radhe Sham Mandir, Doda, members of the Hindu Community today held a unity meeting at Balidani Santosh Thakur Bhawan, where a large number of community members participated.

During the meeting, the members expressed their support for Gagan Rana and decided that he will continue to serve as the President of Sanatan Dharam Sabha Doda.

The meeting also resolved that the Krishna Janmashtami Jhanki will be taken out as per the traditional route followed in previous years. The Jhanki will commence from Radhe Krishna Mandir and pass through Nagir Shiv Mandir, Tondowa Shiv Mandir and Bun Doda Shiv Mandir, before concluding at Radhe Sham Mandir.

Members of the Hindu Community stated that the traditional Janmashtami celebrations should continue peacefully and that the festival remains the immediate priority.

Regarding other issues related to the ongoing matter, it was decided that they will be addressed and resolved through legal and constitutional means.

The community members appealed for peace, unity and harmony and urged everyone to ensure that the Krishna Janmashtami celebrations are conducted peacefully and in accordance with the established tradition.7

डोडा, 26 अगस्त 2026: राधे श्याम मंदिर, डोडा को लेकर चल रहे विवाद के बीच आज बलिदानी संतोष ठाकुर भवन में हिंदू समुदाय की एकता बैठक आयोजित की गई, जिसमें बड़ी संख्या में समुदाय के लोग शामिल हुए।

बैठक के दौरान उपस्थित लोगों ने गगन राणा को अपना समर्थन दिया और निर्णय लिया कि वह सनातन धर्म सभा डोडा के अध्यक्ष बने रहेंगे।

बैठक में यह भी निर्णय लिया गया कि श्री कृष्ण जन्माष्टमी की झांकी पहले से चली आ रही परंपरा के अनुसार ही निकाली जाएगी। झांकी राधे कृष्ण मंदिर से शुरू होकर नागरी शिव मंदिर, टोंडोवा शिव मंदिर और बुन डोडा शिव मंदिर से होते हुए वापस राधे श्याम मंदिर में ही संपन्न होगी।

हिंदू समुदाय के सदस्यों ने कहा कि जन्माष्टमी का पारंपरिक आयोजन शांतिपूर्ण तरीके से होना चाहिए और फिलहाल श्री कृष्ण जन्माष्टमी ही प्राथमिकता है।

बैठक में यह भी निर्णय लिया गया कि राधे श्याम मंदिर से जुड़े अन्य मामलों को कानूनी और संवैधानिक तरीके से ही सुलझाया जाएगा।

During the press conference, the District Youth Officer informed the media that students will have the unique opportunity to interact virtually with the Hon’ble Prime Minister, who will engage with them on various aspects of sports, sporting culture and the importance of youth participation in sports. Following the interaction, students will also get an opportunity to engage with eminent local sportspersons and draw inspiration from their experiences.

The DYO further highlighted the ongoing Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue Quiz on the MY BHARAT Portal and urged students and youth to actively participate in the initiative, which aims to encourage leadership, awareness and meaningful youth engagement in nation-building.

DODA POLICE SEIZED APPROX. 10 GRAMS OF HEROIN-LIKE SUBSTANCE NEAR GANPAT BRIDGE; TWO DRUG PEDDLERS ARRESTED*

Doda, August 23, 2026:

Continuing its sustained drive against the drug menace, Doda Police arrested two alleged drug peddlers and recovered approximately 10 grams of he**in (chitta)-like substance near Ganpat Bridge, Doda, falling within the jurisdiction of Police Station Doda.

On 23.08.2026, during naka checking near Ganpat Bridge on the Doda side, a police team of Police Station Doda, led by SHO PS Doda under the supervision of Addl. SP Doda and DySP Headquarters Doda, intercepted two persons moving under suspicious circumstances.

The accused persons have been identified as:

1. Sohrab Hussain, S/o Mohd Shareef, R/o Akramabad, Tehsil & District Doda
2. Mohd Arif, S/o Mohd Ayoub, R/o Birshalla, Tehsil & District Doda

During checking, approximately 06 grams of he**in-like substance was recovered from the possession of Sohrab Hussain, while approximately 04 grams was recovered from the possession of Mohd Arif, taking the total recovery to approximately 10 grams.

The recovered contraband was seized as per procedure, and both accused persons were taken into police custody. In this connection, FIR No. 239/2026 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Doda. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the forward and backward linkages and identify other persons involved in the drug supply network.

Doda Police reiterates its commitment to combating drug trafficking and appeals to the general public to come forward and share information regarding drug peddling or any other narcotics-related activity. The identity of informants will be kept confidential.
