Doda, May 13, 2026:

Continuing its strict action against drug peddling and narcotics trafficking under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Doda Police apprehended one drug peddler in Thathri area and recovered charas-like substance from his possession.

As per reports, a police team of Police Station Thathri led by SI Naseeb Singh was on routine checking and patrolling duty in Thathri town. During patrolling at around 1600 hours, one person working as a rehri vendor near Main Bazaar Thathri was intercepted and checked in the presence of an Executive Magistrate.

During the checking, approximately 50–55 grams of charas-like substance packed in a black polythene bag was recovered from the pocket of his pants, which he had allegedly kept for illegal sale.

During preliminary enquiry, the accused disclosed his identity as Mussarat Hussain S/o Mushtaq Ahmed, caste Sheikh, resident of Badanoo and presently residing at Thathri.

In this connection, FIR No. 38/2026 under Sections 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Thathri and further investigation into the matter is in progress.

District Police Doda reiterated its firm commitment towards eradicating the menace of drugs from society and appealed to the general public to cooperate with Police by sharing information related to drug peddling and narcotics activities in their areas.

*Doda Police Recovered Online Defrauded Amount of Rs. 21.20 Lakh and 74 Smartphones Worth Rs. 12.68 Lakh — Cyber Police Station Doda*

Doda, May 13, 2026:

In a major achievement against cybercrime, Cyber Police Station Doda of District Police Doda has successfully recovered online defrauded money amounting to Rs. 21,20,739/- and also traced and recovered 74 lost smartphones valued at approximately Rs. 12,68,500/- from different States and UTs across the country.

The recovery was made under the supervision of SSP Doda Shri Kartik Shrotriya-IPS, Addl. SP Doda Shri Mohd Aslam-JKPS and DySP Headquarters Doda Shri Krishan Rattan. Cyber Police Station Doda once again exhibited a high level of professionalism, dedication and technical expertise in combating cybercrime and providing timely relief to the victims.

As per the statement issued by District Police Doda, Cyber Police Station Doda had received several complaints related to online financial frauds and missing/lost mobile phones from different complainants. Acting promptly on the complaints, the Cyber Police team conducted sustained investigation and technical analysis which led to the successful recovery of the defrauded amount as well as the lost smartphones.

The investigation was carried out by the team headed by Inspector Surinder Veer Singh, SHO Cyber Police Station Doda, along with PSI Harish Chander, Nodal Officer CEIR, whose persistent efforts and advanced technical skills played a key role in achieving the recoveries.

The recovered smartphones were later handed over to their rightful owners at Conference Hall PCR Doda by Addl. SP Doda Shri Mohd Aslam-JKPS. The beneficiaries expressed happiness and gratitude towards District Police Doda for tracing and recovering their lost mobile phones.

While interacting with the public, Addl. SP Doda advised people to remain cautious while using mobile phones and online financial platforms, as mobile devices contain valuable personal information which can be misused if lost or stolen. He further appealed to the public to immediately report cyber fraud incidents on National Cyber Crime Helpline Number 1930 or through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. Citizens were also advised to report lost or stolen mobile phones on the CEIR Portal for timely tracing and blocking of devices.

It is pertinent to mention that Cyber Police Station Doda has so far successfully recovered online defrauded money amounting to Rs. 85,04,408/- and also traced and recovered 393 mobile phones worth approximately Rs. 62,48,500/-.

Doda, May 13, 2026:

Continuing its drive against illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of minor minerals, Doda Police today seized a dumper in the jurisdiction of Police Post Khellani for violating mining regulations. The action was led by IC PP Khellani.

A dumper bearing registration number JK08M-0214, driven by Murtaza Rajab Naik S/O Mohd Rajab Naik R/O Neel, Tehsil Ramsoo, District Ramban, was intercepted near Khellani Market during routine checking by police personnel of PP Khellani.

During inspection, the vehicle was found carrying minor mineral material (Bajri) without any valid GR/Form-A and other requisite documents. Acting promptly, police seized the vehicle and informed the District Mineral Officer (DMO) Doda for further necessary action under relevant mining laws.

Subsequently, the DMO Doda imposed a fine amounting to Rs. 28,200/- on the violator as per the prescribed norms.

Doda Police reiterated its commitment to take strict action against illegal mining activities and appealed to the public to cooperate in preserving natural resources and maintaining environmental balance.

– In a decisive operation against anti-national elements, Jammu and Kashmir Police has arrested key accused linked to providing aid to foreign terrorists at a hideout in Singhpora, Chatroo, Kishtwar. The case is registered under FIR No. 03/2026 at Police Station Chatroo, invoking Sections 61(2), 109, 147, 148 of BNS; Sections 13, 16, 18, 19, 20 of UAPA; and Section 7/27 of the Arms Act.

*SSP Kishtwar Sh. Naresh Singh-JKPS* while sharing the details stated that through meticulous investigation and precise operations, police apprehended *Mashkoor Ahmed* S/o Mohd Ramzan, resident of Beighpora, Singhpora, Kishtwar, a teacher in the School Education Department, who was directly implicated in facilitating the terrorists’ hideout. This arrest disrupts critical logistics supporting terror activities in the region.

Earlier, *Maneer Ahmed,* resident of Bandeyan Naidgam, was also arrested for similar offenses.
Investigation continues to dismantle the entire network, with all perpetrators to face justice under due legal process.
