Thieves Loot Donation Box at Ziyarat Sharif Syed Simnani in Kulgam

Kulgam, July 8: In a shocking incident, unidentified thieves looted the donation box at the revered Ziyarat Sharif of Hazrat Syed Simnani (RA) in Kulgam during the night hours, decamping with all the cash collected in the box.

The incident came to light early Tuesday morning when the caretakers discovered the donation boxes broken and emptied.

The incident has sparked outrage among locals, who have urged the district administration and police to take swift action and apprehend the culprits.

Police took cognizance of the incident and launched an investigation into the matter.

*Non-Local Crushed to Death by Train in Budgam-Baramulla Rail Section*


Srinagar, July 8 : A non-local man was Crushed to death after being hit by a moving train in the Budgam–Baramulla railway section on Tuesday morning, officials said.

An official told that the tragic incident took place near kilometer 74 in Chodribagh, between Budgam and Baramulla stations, when Train No. 74614 was en route.

“The man was run over by the train and died on the spot,” official said, adding that his identity is yet to be ascertained but he is believed to be a non-local.

Railway police and local authorities have reached the spot, and further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances leading to the fatal accident. The body has been taken for medico-legal formalities. (JKNS)

*Two Dead, Three Injured Galander Pampore Road Accident*

Srinagar, July 7 : Two persons lost their lives while three others were injured in a tragic road accident in Galander Pampore area of South Kashmir's Pulwama district during night hours.

A police official told that a black Scorpio vehicle bearing registration number JK02DQ-2585, driven by Jhonty, son of Tarseem Lal, resident of Mershiwala, Akhnoor, Jammu, met with an accident while carrying four other passengers.

All four occupants sustained injuries in the incident. However, the driver Jhonty and one co-passenger, Sono Kumar, son of Ashok Kumar, resident of Dabsora, Jammu, later succumbed to their injuries, he said.

The cause of the accident is under investigation, official said adding that the police have registered a case under relevant sections of law and further proceedings have been initiated. More details are awaited. JKNS

*Srinagar Youth Dies in Suspected Attack in Delhi, Family Seeks Justice*

Srinagar, 4 May : Zubair Ahmed Bhat, a 30-year-old resident of Sehyar Ali Kadal, was killed in New Delhi under mysterious circumstances. According to his family, he had traveled to Delhi to bring a guest when unknown individuals attacked him, resulting in his death.

This morning, his body was brought back to his ancestral home in Srinagar. Police reached the house shortly after, and heavy security deployment has been made as preparations for his burial are underway.

The police have started investigating the case, while the family has demanded justice and called for those involved in the incident to be identified and punished.
