*National Deworming Day Observed Across District Doda with Focus on 100% Coverage*

DODA, AUGUST 10: National Deworming Day (NDD) was observed across District Doda today at health centres, educational institutions and Anganwadi Centres, with the Health Department conducting the campaign in collaboration with the Education Department and ICDS-Poshan Department, on 10-08-2026.

The main district-level programme was organised at Govt Hr SecSchool Girls, Doda, where Chief Medical Officer Doda, Dr. Vinod Sharma, graced the occasion and administered Albendazole tablets to the beneficiaries, formally marking the district-wide observance of National Deworming Day.

Speaking on the occasion, CMO Doda Dr. Vinod Sharma highlighted the importance of deworming in protecting children and adolescents from intestinal worm infections and improving their overall health, nutritional status and capacity to learn. He urged students to take the prescribed dose of Albendazole under the supervision of health and frontline workers and encouraged parents and teachers to support the campaign.

The CMO stressed the need for coordinated efforts among the Health, Education and ICDS-Poshan Departments to ensure that every eligible child and adolescent is covered under the campaign. He called upon health officials and field functionaries to maintain proper coordination, identify beneficiaries who may have been missed and ensure their coverage during the Mop-Up Day.

Dr. Vinod Sharma further urged all Block Medical Officers and health staff to closely monitor the campaign at the grassroots level and ensure effective implementation in every village and institution.

Similar programmes were conducted simultaneously across all Medical Blocks of the district under the supervision of the respective Block Medical Officers. Albendazole tablets were administered to eligible beneficiaries at health facilities, schools and Anganwadi Centres, with health personnel, teachers, Anganwadi workers and other frontline functionaries actively participating in the campaign.

The National Deworming Day campaign aims to reduce the prevalence of intestinal worm infections among children and adolescents and promote better health, nutrition and well-being through regular deworming.

The Mop-Up Day will be observed on August 17, 2026, to provide deworming to eligible beneficiaries who could not receive the dose on National Deworming Day.

DODA, AUGUST 10:- Under the banner of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign–2026 and the commemoration of 150 glorious years of the National Song “Vande Mataram”(Phase-III), the District Administration Doda organised a Mega Tiranga Rally today with enthusiastic participation from students, civil and police officers, government officials, youth and the general public.

The event was organised under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Doda, Sh. Krishan Lal, JKAS, accompanied by ADC Doda Sh. Anil Kumar Thakur, CEO Doda, CMO Doda, civil and police officers, officials, teaching staff, students and a large gathering of citizens.

The Mega Tricolour Rally was flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner Doda Sh. Krishan Lal, JKAS from Government Degree College Doda.

The rally proceeded through the designated route and culminated at Sports Stadium Doda, with participants raising patriotic slogans and displaying the National Flag with pride and enthusiasm.

A large number of students from government as well as private schools across Doda district participated enthusiastically in the rally.

The students marched carrying the National Flag, patriotic banners, posters and placards, conveying messages of patriotism, national unity, peace, harmony and responsible citizenship. Their energetic participation added vibrancy and youthful enthusiasm to the event.

Students from various degree colleges of the district also participated in the Mega Tricolour Rally in large numbers, reflecting the active involvement of the higher education community in the national campaign.

The main attraction of the rally was a huge 1600 metres-long Tricolour of India, carried by a large group of enthusiastic students, creating a spectacular display of national pride and unity. The sight of students marching together with the giant National Flag, accompanied by hundreds of smaller Tricolours, banners and patriotic placards, created an inspiring atmosphere throughout the rally.

The atmosphere remained charged with patriotic fervour as participants raised slogans including “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram.” The colourful display of the Tricolour, banners and posters, along with the participation of students from different educational institutions, reflected the spirit of “Unity in Diversity” and “Nation First.”

Deputy Commissioner Doda Sh. Krishan Lal, JKAS highlighted the significance of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign, stating that the initiative provides every citizen with an opportunity to express pride and respect for the National Flag and strengthen the spirit of patriotism and national unity.

The Deputy Commissioner Doda also emphasised the importance of commemorating 150 glorious years of “Vande Mataram”, describing the National Song as an enduring symbol of India’s freedom struggle, courage, sacrifice and patriotic consciousness. He urged the younger generation to learn about the historical significance of Vande Mataram and carry forward its message of devotion to the motherland.

He further stressed that the Tricolour represents the values, aspirations, sacrifices and collective identity of the people of India. He urged all citizens to uphold the dignity and sanctity of the National Flag and participate in the campaign with a sense of responsibility, pride and patriotism.

*CMO Doda Reviews Healthcare Services, NQAS & DNB Preparedness at SDH Bhaderwah*

Bhaderwah, August 09: Chief Medical Officer Doda Dr. Vinod Sharma, visited Sub District Hospital Bhaderwah this afternoon to review the overall functioning of the hospital and assess its preparedness for NQAS and DNB-related requirements.

During the visit, the CMO conducted a detailed inspection of various sections of the hospital and interacted with the staff on duty to assess the availability of services and the implementation of quality standards.

The visit was part of the CMO's continuous monitoring and review of SDH Bhaderwah, with particular focus on strengthening preparedness for NQAS assessment and fulfilling the requirements related to DNB accreditation.

Dr. Sharma emphasized the need for maintaining quality standards, proper documentation, cleanliness, patient-friendly services and ensuring that all necessary requirements are fulfilled well in advance.

He also urged the hospital staff to work collectively towards further improving the quality of healthcare services and ensuring better patient care.

DODA, AUGUST 09: Transport Commissioner, J&K, Sh. Vishesh Mahajan, who is also the Mentor for District Doda, today chaired a meeting to review the progress of digitization of Revenue Records in the district at Conference Hall, DC Office Complex, Doda. Deputy Commissioner Doda, Sh. Krishan Lal, also participated in the meeting.

The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of digitization of Jamabandi, Records of Rights (RoR) and other revenue records, including scanning, data entry, uploading, verification and quality control.

During the meeting, the Commissioner reviewed the digitization status of revenue records of different areas of the district and stressed that digitized records must accurately reflect the original manual records to ensure their authenticity and reliability.

ACR Doda, Sh. Ashraf Pervez, gave a detailed presentation on the progress made in the digitization process. The Commissioner also interacted with Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars and other Revenue officials to assess the ground-level progress and issues being faced.

The Revenue officials highlighted various challenges and bottlenecks in the process. The Commissioner directed the concerned officers to address these issues promptly and ensure that the digitization work is carried out in a systematic, transparent and time-bound manner.

Emphasizing the importance of accuracy in land records, the Commissioner directed the officers to ensure proper scanning, indexing, digitization and verification of records before their final uploading. He also called for rechecking Jamabandis and Khasras wherever required and correction of discrepancies as per the prescribed procedure.

He further directed the Revenue authorities to organize special camps, wherever necessary, to facilitate verification and correction of records. He stressed regular monitoring, proper documentation and timely resolution of technical and field-level issues.

The meeting was attended by ADC Doda Sh. Anil Kumar Thakur, ADC Bhaderwah Sh. Sunil Kumar Bhutyal, ACR Doda Sh. Ashraf Pervez, SDMs, Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars and other officials of the Revenue Department.

The placement drive was conducted under the leadership of Dr. Umesh Choudhary, Incharge Head, School of Management Studies, as part of the School's ongoing efforts to strengthen industry–academia collaboration and enhance student employability.

On the occasion, Prof. Rahul Gupta, Rector, Bhaderwah Campus in his message appreciated the initiative and congratulated the School for successfully organizing the placement drive. DODA, AUGUST 08: Deputy Commissioner Doda Krishan Lal, today visited Government Medical College (GMC) Doda and the Gujjar-Bakarwal Boys and Girls Hostels to review the progress of ongoing development and construction works.

The DC inspected the under-construction buildings at the GMC Complex and took stock of the progress of ongoing works. He directed the concerned officers and executing agencies to expedite the pace of work and ensure timely completion while maintaining the required quality standards.

Later, the DC inspected the Gujjar-Bakarwal Boys and Girls Hostels and reviewed the facilities available in the rooms, mess halls and also inspected the hostel premises. DC Doda directed the concerned officials to ensure proper cleanliness and hygiene and regularly monitor the condition of the facilities.

The concerned officers briefed the DC about the progress of various works and apprised him of the bottlenecks affecting their timely completion. The DC directed the officers to resolve the issues promptly and ensure close monitoring of all ongoing works.

The DC stressed that all works must be completed within the stipulated timelines without compromising on quality.

The DC was accompanied by the SE PWD R&B Doda, Chief Planning Officer Doda, concerned Executive Engineers, AEEs besides officers and officials of the concerned engineering departments.

DODA, AUGUST 08: District Development Commissioner (Chairman DLTC), Doda Krishan Lal, today chaired a meeting of the District Level Telecom Committee to review the status of telecom infrastructure and network connectivity in the district.

The meeting reviewed the status of installation of mobile network towers at various locations across the district. The DDC stressed the need for expediting the installation of mobile towers in far-flung and uncovered areas, particularly in Jai and Dessa, to improve connectivity for the people living in these areas.

The DDC directed the concerned executing agencies to expedite the ongoing work and strengthen mobile network connectivity in both municipal areas and far-flung parts of the district.

The committee also reviewed the progress of BharatNet installation and discussed issues affecting its timely implementation. The DDC directed the concerned officers to ensure close monitoring and timely completion of the works.

The status of the C-BuD application was also reviewed during the meeting. Besides telecom-related works, the DDC also reviewed various works pertaining to Municipality, including the status of street light installations and municipal assets. He directed the concerned officials to ensure proper maintenance and timely completion of the ongoing works.

The DDC stressed that improved telecom and digital connectivity is essential for ensuring better access to communication, online services and other government facilities, particularly in remote and far-flung areas. He directed all concerned departments and executing agencies to work in close coordination and resolve bottlenecks for timely completion of the works.

The meeting was attended by the ADC, SE PWD R&B, SE Hydraulic Circle, ASP, DFO, ACD, CMO, ACP, concerned Executive Engineers, Divisional Engineer BSNL, District Informatics Officer, district representatives of Airtel and Reliance Jio and officers and officials from the concerned departments.

*CMO Doda Reviews NQAS Preparedness Ahead of Review Meeting*

Doda, August 08: In view of the upcoming review meeting on the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS), Chief Medical Officer Doda, Dr. Vinod Sharma, today chaired a virtual meeting to review the preparedness and progress of health facilities across the district, on 08-08-2026.

The meeting was attended by all Block Medical Officers (BMOs), Incharges of various health facilities and members of the District Quality Assurance Unit (DQAU), Doda.

During the meeting, the CMO reviewed the block-wise progress under the NQAS programme and took feedback regarding the status of assessments and preparedness of health facilities.

Dr. Vinod Sharma directed all BMOs to ensure that all pending health facilities complete and upload their assessments on the designated Saqsham portal by Monday, without fail. He stressed the need for timely completion of all pending activities and maintaining proper documentation to ensure effective preparedness for the upcoming NQAS review.

The CMO also called upon the concerned officers and officials to work in close coordination with the DQAU and ensure that all quality related requirements are addressed within the stipulated timeline.

Doda, August 08: A district-level meeting to review the preparedness and implementation of National Deworming Day (NDD) was held under the chairpersonship of Deputy Commissioner Doda, Sh. Krishan Lal, (JKAS).

During the meeting, Chief Medical Officer Doda, Dr. Vinod Sharma, briefed the Chairperson about the rationale, objectives and implementation strategy of the National Deworming Day programme. It was informed that NDD will be observed on August 10, 2026, followed by a Mop-Up Day on August 17, 2026.

The programme involves the administration of Albendazole tablets to all eligible children in the 1–19 years age group through schools and Anganwadi Centres, with the objective of achieving comprehensive coverage and improving the health and well-being of children and adolescents.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of effective implementation of the programme and directed all stakeholders to work in close coordination to achieve the set targets and ensure 100 per cent coverage. He further directed the concerned departments to undertake strict monitoring and random field checks to ensure that no eligible child is left out, while maintaining all prescribed safety protocols and guidelines during the administration of the tablets.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda, ACD Doda, District AYUSH Officer Doda, Programme Officer Poshan Doda, Chief Education Officer Doda, all Block Medical Officers besides representatives from the ICDS, Health Department and other concerned stakeholders.

The participating departments assured their full cooperation and coordinated efforts for the successful implementation of the National Deworming Day programme across the district.

DODA, AUGUST 7: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda, Sh. Krishan Lal, along with Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, Sh. Kartik Shrotriya, IPS, today chaired a meeting with representatives of major construction companies, contractors and project managers to review issues concerning migrant labourers engaged in various ongoing development projects across the district.

The meeting was held in the VC Room of the DC Office, Doda, and was attended by representatives of NHIDCL, Srishti Infrastructure Limited, E5 Infrastructure Private Limited, MCPL, SSN Infra Pvt. Ltd., AL Construction Limited, Ambience Resort Bhaderwah and other contractors executing works in the district.

Reviewing the status of migrant labourers employed under different establishments, the DDC emphasized strict adherence to the provisions of labour laws and directed all employers to ensure proper registration of migrant workers, maintain updated records of their deployment, and comply with all statutory requirements relating to their welfare, safety and working conditions.

The DDC further directed all contractors and project authorities to register every non-local worker under the applicable government insurance schemes so that they receive the benefits of social security and financial protection. He also instructed them to submit a complete list of all non-local labourers engaged under their respective establishments to the District Administration for proper documentation, monitoring and verification.

The DDC stressed that maintaining accurate records of migrant workers is essential for effective coordination among departments, ensuring their welfare, and strengthening security and regulatory oversight. He called upon all stakeholders to extend full cooperation to the District Administration and ensure complete compliance with the prescribed guidelines.

The participating agencies were instructed to furnish comprehensive details of the migrant labourers engaged in their respective projects without delay and to strictly adhere to all applicable labour laws.
