Bear Rescued Safely from PHE Plant Area in Doda

Doda, May 17: Panic gripped the Mohchhan area of Doda after a bear was spotted late last night beneath the PHE plant premises, raising concern among local residents and plant workers. The wild animal reportedly remained in the area till early morning, prompting authorities to alert the Wildlife Department.

A team from the Wildlife Department reached the spot and launched a rescue operation. After careful efforts, the team successfully captured the bear without causing any harm to the animal or nearby people. The bear was later released safely into a suitable forest area.
Officials appreciated the cooperation of local residents during the operation and urged people to stay alert in case of movement of wild animals in nearby areas. Authorities also appealed to the public to immediately inform the Wildlife Department about any such sightings to ensure the safety of both humans and wildlife.

Deputy Commissioner Doda, Krishan Lal, has appealed to all citizens of District Doda to actively participate in the ongoing Self-Enumeration process under Census 2027 being conducted from 17 May to 31 May 2027.
The DC urged every household to register online through the official Self-Enumeration Portal:

He emphasized that Census is not merely a data collection exercise, but a vital step towards strengthening development planning, improving public services and ensuring inclusive growth for every section of society. Accurate information provided by citizens will help the Government in preparing better policies for education, healthcare, employment, infrastructure and welfare schemes.
Appealing for maximum public participation, the Deputy Commissioner called upon the people of Doda to complete their self-enumeration process honestly and timely, and contribute towards building a stronger, progressive and developed India.
