Various regional industrialists' meetings done in Durgapur. Discussion with various business bodies regarding requirements to enhance business and new investments in Durgapur.

Durgapur MLAs have instructed ADDA to create separate landbank data for Residential Zones & Industrial Zones, and infrastructure will be upgraded accordingly. Removal of syndicates. Many investors have approached to take fresh lands for new investments in Durgapur.

A one window portal formation, to get all clearances [Fire, Forests, Pollution and others] within a month. Allotment of land to investors after financial scrutiny.

Discussions of how to reutilize the vast estates of MAMC, HFC, BOGL, DCL, Jessop, and ensuring full support to industrialists. Industrialists have also demanded for creating SEZ and IT Sector enhancement in Durgapur.

Durgapur Municipal Corporation to be expanded

Durgapur MLAs have given proposals for area incorporations. In the Eastern side, areas of Bamunara, Gopalpur, Rajbandh & others. Similarly in the Western side, areas of Airport City.

After delimitation, DMC will go for elections. Wards will likely increase from current 43 to 90. Some bigger wards will also be broken down. Discussions already progressed multiple stages, awaits final written directive.

The eastern side of Durgapur has seen explosive growth beyond its corporation boundaries - Shankarpur, Kaliganj, Tetikhola, Arrah, Shibtala, Gopalpur, Bamunara, parts of Bidhan Nagar, Banskopa, Rajbandh. Similarly in the western side of Durgapur lies the entire Aerocity Township, where numerous residential complexes, commercial establishments, schools, and colleges are springing up.

Many hubs from Rajbandh Petro Complex to Durgapur Airport (RDP) currently lies in Panchayats [leading to revenue leakages]. Expansion of DMC will also lead to more central funded projects enter Durgapur.

🔺Major Upgradation and Modernization of Durgapur Station.

🔺Appropriate settlement of unauthorized occupation of land along the track at Durgapur, for further expansion and development.

Proposal given by Saumitra khan to Ashwini Vaishnaw for fastracking the Beliatore Durgapur & Chhatna Mukutmanipur Railway Projects approval and land acquisition.

Highly Critical Railway connectivity initiatives aimed at unlocking the immense rural industrial economic potential of Western West Bengal.

Approving Beliatore Durgapur Bankura Rail Link by initiating construction of crucial 28km missing gap between Beliatore & Durgapur. The link will bridge the Damodar River, eliminate massive traffic detours, and establish vital healthcare, educational and freight corridor between the two districts.

Revival of Land Acquisition of Bankura Chhatna Mukutmanipur Rail Link. Expediting land acquisition of this vital line in this tribal dominated region [As out of the required 769.57 acres of land of this Jungle Mahal project, 481.95 acres were handed over by 2015, but remaining land acquisition cases lapsed]. The revive the remaining cases. This is also an emerging tourism corridor.

In a recent pre-budget meeting between the state government and various industry bodies in West Bengal, anticipating the West Bengal budget on 22nd June 2026 representatives from multiple chambers of commerce presented a wide array of demands to top finance department officials. Similarly, several discussions done between local mlas and local business bodies, on various steps to be taken to increase industrialization in Durgapur.
