Scientists warn there is something even
more terrifying than black holes: vacuum
decay, a theoretical cosmic event that
could instantly destroy the universe.
Unlike black holes, which are localized
regions of extreme gravity, vacuum decay
would travel at the speed of light,
rewriting the laws of physics, collapsing
space-time, and erasing matter, energy,
stars, galaxies, and life without warning
Astrophysicists and theoretical physicists
describe it as a cosmic phase transition,
triggered by quantum fluctuations in the
false vacuum of the universe, leaving no
