Love’s Travel Stops has announced a major expansion plan for 2026, committing $700 million to open new locations, upgrade existing sites, and expand services for professional drivers. According to the company, Love’s will open 20 new travel centers this year and remodel 35 existing locations, while also adding two new truck care facilities and four truck washes.
The new developments will bring 1,500 additional truck parking spaces to Love’s nationwide network, increasing the total to more than 52,000 parking spots by the end of 2026. Company leadership says the expansion is focused on improving driver experience, increasing convenience, and modernizing infrastructure across its locations.
Beyond parking, Love’s plans to roll out an upgraded Love’s Rewards loyalty program later this month, allowing customers to earn points on in-store purchases, gas, and diesel. The company will also introduce its first Whataburger location in 2026 and continue construction on Heartwell Renewables, a new renewable diesel refinery in Hastings, Nebraska.
Love’s president Shane Wharton said the company’s growth strategy is centered on providing better amenities, updated technology, and stronger customer value for both truckers and everyday travelers.
