*Three persons injured in different road accidents succumb in hospital*

Srinagar, Aug 17, KNT: At least three persons including an elderly man who were injured in road accidents succumbed to their injuries today.

A 75 year old man Ghulam Muhammad Parray of Preng area of Central Kashmir’s Kangan who was injured in a road accident at Preng on Sunday succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS Soura today.

An 18-year old youth Waseem Ahmed Sofi of Chakloo Sopore who had sustained injuries at Ladoora Sopore road accident died in the SKIMS Soura today.

Meanwhile, a motorcyclist from Kalaroos Kupwara, Javaid Ahmed Sheikh, who along with two other had suffered injuries in a road accident near Ganapora Crossing of Handwara died in hospital. (KNT)

GANDERBAL POLICE ARRESTED 03 PERSONS FOR SELLING GOVERNMENT MANUFACTURED CEMENT.

```On a specific information, SHO PS Gund SI Abdul Rashid under the supervision of SDPO Kangan Shri Yasir Qadri-JKPS, raided two spots at Fraw Haknar & Ganiwan Gund and seized 248 bags of cement labelled as "Not for Retail Sale" from the possession of three persons identified as Ishtiyaq Ahmad Shah S/O Abdul Ahad Shah, Mushtaq Ahmad Shah S/O Abdul Ahad Shah residents of Fraw, Gund and Ehsan-ul-Haq S/O Abdul Ahad Bhat R/O Sumbal Bala, Gund. The cement was meant for use in Government works only. The accused persons were arrested and illicit cement has also been seized on spot.

In this regard case FIR Nos. 31/2021, 32/2021 and 33/2021 U/S 408, 424, 109, 34 IPC has been registered at Police Station Gund and Investigation taken up.

People of the area hailed this action of Police.```

DISTRICT POLICE GANDERBAL APPREHENDS DRUG PEDDLERS; A CONSIGNMENT OF HE**IN LIKE SUBSTANCES AND A VEHICLE WERE SEIZED ON SPOT.

```District Police Ganderbal in its concerted efforts to eradicate menace of drug abuse from the society, made yet another breakthrough in tackling drug peddlers.

Acting on a specific tipoff about two persons on board a Skoda vehicle carrying some consignment of narcotic drugs in Lar area, a Police led by SHO Police Station Lar SI Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ganderbal Dr. Abdul Majid Magray-JKPS. The Police party intercepted the vehicle bearing registration No. DL4CNA- 3705 and conducted frisking in presence of Executive Magistrate and seized He**in - like substance grossly weighing about 76 grams along with the vehicle. The two persons were arrested on the spot and identified as Muneer Ahmad Khan S/O Ghulam Nabi Khan R/O Peth Serch, Ganderbal and Farhad Ahmad Khan S/O Ameer Ahmad Khan R/O Gutlibagh, Ganderbal.

In this regard case FIR No. 36/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Lar, further investigation is going on.
Locals of the area have hailed this action of Ganderbal Police and expected that this type of action against drug menace shall continue in the future also.```

17-yr-old Kupwara youth commits su***de in Sgr

Locals say cement Kadal becoming su***de point, need to be fenced at earliest

A 17-year-old youth has committed su***de by jumping into river Jhelum from Cement Kadal in Noorbagh area of Srinagar.

The family members of the youth told the news agency that their beloved identified as Saqib Ahmad Ahangar, son of Abdul Kalaam Ahangar of Kupwara has jumped into river Jhelum on Friday evening.

Saqib was living as paying guest in Kawdara area of Nawa Kadal in Srinagar with his brother and cousin brother.

The class 11 student has also shot a video before committing su***de and sought forgiveness from his parents for taking this extreme step.

Meanwhile, locals from Noorbagh area said that the Cement Kadal has become a su***de point for the people. “So far, many people have committed su***de by jumping from this bridge.

It is unfortunate that the administration is not taking concrete steps to prevent such incidents. The bridge should at least be fenced so that these incidents can be prevented,” locals said.

*Youth shot dead in Habba Kadal Srinagar*

Srinagar, Jun 23 (KNO): A 28-year-old youth was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Habba Kadal chowk in Srinagar on Wednesday evening.

Official sources told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the youth identified as Umer Ahmad was shot at near Fashion Inn shop by unknown gunmen.

They said that the youth was immediately rushed to SMHS hospital for treatment, where he was declared dead on arrival.

Meanwhile, hospital authorities also confirmed to KNO that the youth was brought dead yo the hospital—(KNO)
