DC Mangan Chairs Impact Assessment and Evaluation Study for DISHA Monitoring Mechanism in Mangan district
Mangan, July 2 (IPR): District Collector, Mangan, Mr Anant Jain chaired a meeting on the Impact Assessment and Evaluation Study for the DISHA Monitoring Mechanism in Mangan District today.
The study is being conducted by a team from the National Institute of Labour Economics Research and Development (NILERD), led by Dr D. Indra Kumar and his team members. The purpose of the visit is to assess and evaluate the effectiveness and functioning of the DISHA (District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee) system over the past four years. As part of the evaluation process, the NILERD team had an interaction with the elected public representatives and concerned officials from line departments. The team also collected relevant data and feedback concerning the functioning of the District DISHA Committee. To aid this, a structured questionnaire was distributed among members of the DISHA Committee (Mangan District) to gather preliminary information and insights.
The meeting was graced by Zilla Adhaksya Mangan, Mr Kado Lepcha, Upa-Adhaksya Mangan, Ms Sonam Kipa Bhutia and other district officials, including ADC (Development) Mangan, Dr Sonam R. Lepcha, ADC (Development), Chungthang, Mr Hem Sagar Kaphley, CMO Mangan, Dr. Tempo T. Kaleon, Additional Director, Animal Husbandry Department, Dr Dechen O Kaleon, other District Level DISHA Committee Members and officials.
During the meeting, DC Mangan informed the evaluators that road connectivity is a serious issue for Mangan district. Several governmental developmental activities in Mangan district has been disrupted due to recent disasters of Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOF) and flash floods since 2023.
Adhaksya Mr Kado Lepcha also informed the meeting about the positive impact of Disha meeting which was held in the month of May 2025.
Upa-Adakshya also placed her point of view in the meeting with regard to the need for proper ex*****on of public works.
The meeting ended with the vote of thanks by ADC Development.
