He shares; Delighted to attend the 7th Sarathi Samman Diwas, I extend my heartiest congratulations and best wishes to all our respected chalak-gurujis and their families. This day is dedicated to honoring your tireless service, resilience, and essential contribution to society.

Among the key announcements made today is the launch of a medical insurance scheme for licensed commercial taxi drivers operating within Sikkim. This initiative will provide up to ₹5 lakh per year in coverage for hospitalization due to illness or accidents. Initially covering 5,000 drivers, the scheme will be expanded in future phases to include more beneficiaries.

On this significant day, I pay tribute to every category of chalak-gurujis from government employees to private transport operators amd truck & tipper drivers who keep the economy moving, and tourist drivers who welcome guests to Sikkim with hospitality and grace. I offer special recognition to the women drivers from mothers, daughters, and daughters-in-law who balance their responsibilities at home and behind the wheel, demonstrating courage, confidence, and strength.

Thank you all for your dedicated service. Let us continue working together to serve Sikkim with pride, unity, and purpose.

(Press Release From Namchi District Zilla Bhawan)

A Coordination Meeting aimed at fostering tourism development in Namchi District was held on 26th July 2025 at Zilla Bhawan, Namchi, under the chairmanship of the Hon’ble Zilla Adhakshya, Ms. Anjeeta Rajalim.

The meeting brought together Presidents and representatives from various tourism bodies, including the Rabong Tourism Development Committee (RTDC), Yangang Tourism Development Committee (YTDC), Namchi Tourism Development Committee (NTDC), Temi Namphing Tourism Development Committee (TNTDC), Namthang Tourism Development Committee (NTDC), Kitam Tourism Development Committee (KTDC), and the Himalayan Footprints Tourism Development Cooperative Society, Sadam.
Along the stakeholders Ms.Lamin Theeng, Dy.Director, Tourism Department, Namchi also participated in the meeting.

* Key agenda points discussed during the meeting included:

1. Formulating a Joint Strategy:
A unified approach was discussed to support the holistic growth of tourism-related businesses and infrastructure within Namchi District.
2. Itinerary Development:
Deliberations were held on curating attractive, structured, and practical itineraries that highlight the unique attractions and experiences across the district.
3. Inter-District Collaboration:
Emphasis was placed on developing seamless tourism circuits connecting Namchi with other districts of Sikkim, thereby offering visitors a richer and more comprehensive travel experience.
4. Grand Launch of the Himalayan Footprints Tourism Development Cooperative Society:
The meeting included initial discussions on the upcoming grand launch of the Himalayan Footprints Tourism Development Cooperative Society, scheduled for November 2025 at Sadam.

During the meeting main roles and responsibilities of various stakeholders were briefly outlined to ensure the event’s success.
The meeting concluded on a highly positive and collaborative note, with all participants committing to a shared vision for the advancement of tourism in Namchi District. A collective decision was made to unite efforts and work together to ensure the success of both district-wide tourism initiatives and the upcoming launch event in Sadam.

Free Medicines & Health Check Camp Organized by Himalayan Free Church, Thangsing, at Palok (Pajaak) in Bermiok Passi, Namchi

On July 21, 2025, the Himalayan Free Church, Thangsing, successfully conducted a day-long Free Mega Health Camp at Palok in Bermiok Passi. The event aimed to provide essential healthcare services to the local community, offering comprehensive general check-ups, blood pressure and blood sugar screenings, BMI measurements, eye and dental examinations, and expert health counseling.

The camp was held from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, during which a dedicated medical team provided essential healthcare services. The attending doctors included ENT specialist Dr. Sarika Chettri, eye specialist Dr. Nawraj Rijal, and Medical Officer in Charge (PHC Bermiok Tokal) Dr. Sureksha Tamang, along with dental Dr. Jordahan Bhutia, senior Nurse Miss Karma and their team of health personnel, who offered consultations and medical care to those in need.

Special free treatments were also provided by the Mobile Village Clinic, an initiative envisioned by the Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang-Golay, committed to providing doorstep services to the people of Sikkim to ensure accessible and quality healthcare, ensuring that essential medical services reach those who need them the most.

A total of over 125 individuals participated in the health camp, benefiting from the expert medical advice and health screenings offered. The focus was on elderly individuals, low-income families, and children from the concerned village. During the camp, free medical supplies were distributed directly to individuals as prescribed by the attending doctors.

In the service of social welfare, the HFC has always demonstrated its strong commitment to corporate social responsibility, led by the venerable Pastor Shri M.K. Timothy Rai, President Shri K.B. Paul Rai, General Secretary Shri Johnson Roka, and the entire HFC committee, who remain dedicated to positively impacting the community through initiatives like this.

This noble initiative sought to raise health awareness and promote preventive care, ensuring the well-being of residents. The camp’s resounding success highlighted the significance of such endeavors in making quality healthcare accessible to all.

In a groundbreaking move, the Hon'ble Chief Minister, Shri Prem Singh Tamang-Golay, has appointed Shri Pradeep Tamang from Bermiok Passi ward as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD).

In a strong step towards raising awareness against drug abuse, the Narcotics Control Bureau of India successfully organized the One Nation One Ride Rally, in association with Nomadic Souls Touring India Motorcycle Club, Sikkim, and Ride For Pride Association of India Tribe.

32nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Bermiok Todhey Thandup Kyidu Samaj for the Fiscal Year 2024-25

Bermiok Todhey, 1st June 2025: Under the chairmanship of the Chief Patron of TTK Samaj, Yap. Thinley Namgyal Densapa, the 32nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Todhey Thandup Kyidu Samaj was held at CRC Hall, coinciding with the grand celebration of 50 years of statehood.

The program was graced by the presence of guest of honor, Smt. Diki Lhamu Kazini (Chumla), accompanied by the former TTK founder member and President, Shri T.T. Sherpa, Shri N.T. Bhutia, Smt. Minto Choden Bhutia, and Shri Purna Bdr. Roka, who attended as a senior member of the Samaj. The meeting also welcomed Vice President of Panchayat, Shri Tara Chand Bajgai, along with concerned ward Panchayat, Shri Tashi Tsh. Bhutia, representatives from every household, and the dissolved committee quorum of the Samaj.

Several key objectives of the annual general meeting were addressed, including:

The annual Kyidu report was presented by Treasurer Mahindra Pradhan, while the accounts report of the TTK Badminton Tournament was delivered by Mrs. Yangden Bhutia. A brief report, accompanied by a video projector display, was presented by Karma Samdup Bhutia, Vice President. President Shri Ganesh Pradhan also presented the final audit reports, providing a clear and comprehensive overview of the financial and operational results.

Chief Patron Yap. Thinley Namgyal Densapa summarized the outcomes of the meeting and expressed gratitude to all members and stakeholders for their attendance and participation. He acknowledged the committee members of TTK Samaj for their active involvement in fostering community harmony to safeguard our culture, traditions, and unity as Kyidus. He highlighted several achievements and initiatives of the Samaj that have set an exemplary standard in society for the visionary welfare and upliftment of TTK Samaj. In his assurance, Yap. Thinley Namgyal Densapa announced an annual contribution of ₹60,000 to the Samaj and encouraged capable individuals to come forward with open hearts in support of the Samaj. He also emphasized the milestones achieved by the Bermiok Football Academy in its pursuit to help youngsters from underprivileged families chase their dreams in sports at no cost, as part of TTK Samaj's initiative.

Notably, Yap. Thinley Namgyal Densapa officially declared his intention to donate land for the academy to build its own facility in Bermiok Tokal.

Former President Shri N.T. Bhutia expressed heartfelt gratitude for the humanitarian acts of kindness by Yap. Thinley Namgyal Densapa, who has made significant contributions to social causes in Bermiok Namphing Elika. He praised his vision and generosity in donating land for schools, monasteries, churches, temples, the Samaj, and many other noble causes, describing him as a living inspiration for many generations.

The meeting also featured addresses from Panchayat members Shri Tara Chand Bajgai, Shri Tashi Tshering Bhutia, and Shri Purna Bdr. Roka, along with other key individuals.

At the onset, President Shri Ganesh Kr. Pradhan presented the annual report for 2024-25, briefing the gathering on the importance and functioning of the Samaj for social upliftment, as well as the role of the managing committee in society. He informed attendees about various upcoming initiatives, including sports, cultural events, campaigns, and other holistic activities.

During the meeting, TTK Samaj recognized the unwavering support and contributions of the 13-Bermiok Tokal GPU.

In conclusion, the names of households participating in the annual picnic celebration were announced, along with the list for Sansari Puja 2026, categorized by household. Additionally, new members were welcomed into the Samaj, including Mr. Tez Bir Tamang and Mrs. Bishnu Tamang.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Joint Secretary Shri Jikmi Bhutia, with the ceremony masterfully conducted by Shri Sangey Passage Bhutia and Shri Karma Samdup Bhutia.
