Nearly 100 Chinese Nationals Missing After Nepal Mudslide
Nearly 100 Chinese nationals remain missing on the Nepalese side following a devastating mudslide in Nepal, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian confirmed on Thursday. The Chinese Embassy in Nepal is coordinating with Nepalese authorities to verify the reports and locate those missing.
Meanwhile, the Bhote Koshi flood in Nepal’s Rasuwa district has reportedly killed more than 165 people, while hundreds remain missing, including foreign nationals and security personnel. Rescue teams have so far evacuated 123 people from affected areas.
The flash flood caused extensive damage to bridges, roads and other infrastructure, severely disrupting connectivity. Satellite imagery shows large stretches of mountainsides covered by brown debris and sediment.
