THE BIG ?
We must analyze the growth and development of Sikkim in the past 25 years, as it is affecting the masses in one way or another.
As it has become a piece of popular question for the SKM Party “What has SDF done in the past 25 years?”
Some opportunists are using it to gain the popular support of the people, and on some level, to gain the sympathy of the Sikkimese people.
After the merger of Sikkim with India, it was a sudden change from being a monarchy kingdom to becoming the 22nd state of India.
If we put the debate of the big question “What has SDF done in the past 25 years?” aside for the sake of argument, we can see how Sikkim has developed or we Sikkimese people have come so far and what it has offered us in the past 25 years. Thus,such an argument only deserves a big laugh.
If not us, our elder generations have seen the clear real life changes in Sikkim. Had we not been the part of the journey, we wouldn’t have been where we are now! Thus criticizing the journey of our great grandfathers to our fathers and to us on the one hand, and using the same element to get the masses for fulfilling one’s desire to hold power in the current system, it is nothing but a wholly opportunistic method of grabbing votes.
SDF party has always been on the move of promotion of a democratic and progressive socio-cultural milieu and encouraging the rich cultural heritages of our people while promoting all modern cultural forms and disciplines.
