Coordination Meeting Held to Review Preparations for Home Minister’s Visit to Sikkim

Gangtok,October 8: A coordination meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang at Samman Bhawan to review preparations for the upcoming visit of Home Minister Shri Amit Shah to Sikkim.

The meeting focused on preparations, logistics, and the overall programme outline for the visit. Discussions emphasized smooth coordination among departments, timely completion of tasks, and upholding Sikkim’s tradition of warmth and hospitality. Directions were issued to all concerned departments to ensure that the visit and associated events are conducted successfully and seamlessly. The finalisation of the venue will be done at a later stage.

The visit will include the Rashtriya Sahkari Sammelan–2025 and the virtual inauguration and foundation stone laying of various projects, key initiatives aimed at accelerating Sikkim’s development, strengthening its cooperative movement, and enhancing opportunities for growth and prosperity across the State.

The tentative schedule for the visit of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to Sikkim in November was also reviewed, including key programmes, logistics, and coordination requirements, to ensure that every arrangement is meticulously planned and executed flawlessly, reflecting the State’s tradition of efficiency and hospitality.

तिस्ता बजारमा बाढीपीडितको अवस्था निरीक्षण गर्न भाजपाको प्रतिनिधि टोलीको भ्रमण

दार्जिलिङ, अक्टोबर 4 आएको भीषण वर्षा र त्यसपछिको बाढीका कारण तिस्ता बजार क्षेत्र अत्यधिक प्रभावित भएको छ। आज भारतीय जनता पार्टीको एक प्रतिनिधि टोलीले सो क्षेत्रको स्थलगत निरीक्षण गरी पीडित परिवारहरूको अवस्था बुझ्ने कार्य गरेको छ।

भ्रमण टोलीमा भाजपाका जिल्ला अध्यक्ष श्री सुबा प्रधान, उपाध्यक्ष श्री कुमार चाम्लिङ, जिल्ला महासचिव श्री राजु थुलुङ राई, तथा मण्डल अध्यक्ष श्रीमती कालिन्दिनी छेत्री लगायतका नेताहरूको सहभागिता रहेको थियो।

निरीक्षणका क्रममा टोलीले बाढीले पुर्याएको व्यापक क्षति प्रत्यक्ष अवलोकन गरेको छ। प्राप्त विवरण अनुसार, जम्मा चारवटा गाडी पूर्ण रूपमा क्षतिग्रस्त भएका छन्, जसमा स्थानीय युवाहरूको गाडी भाडा (ट्याक्सी सेवा) मार्फत रोजगारी जोडिएको थियो। यसका साथै, बाढी र पहिरोका कारण कैयौं घरहरूमा माटो पस्दै ठूलो क्षति पुगेको स्थानीय बासिन्दाहरूले जानकारी दिएका छन्।

भाजपाको प्रतिनिधि टोलीले प्रभावित परिवारहरूसँग भेटघाट गरी तिनको समस्या सुनेको र सरकारसँग तत्काल राहत र पुनर्स्थापनाको माग गर्ने प्रतिबद्धता व्यक्त गरेको छ। टोलीका सदस्यहरूले जनताको सुरक्षालाई प्राथमिकतामा राख्दै बाढीपीडित क्षेत्रहरूमा सहयोग र उद्धार कार्यलाई तीव्र बनाउन आग्रह गरेका छन्।

Chief Minister Calls on Prime Minister Narendra Modi; Expresses Gratitude and Discusses Key Issues Concerning Sikkim

New Delhi, October 6: The Chief Minister of Sikkim Mr Prem Singh Tamang called on the Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi, in New Delhi today. During the meeting, the Chief Minister conveyed, on behalf of the people of Sikkim, heartfelt gratitude for the Prime Minister’s visionary leadership, unwavering support, and encouragement that continue to guide Sikkim’s journey of peace, progress, and prosperity.

The Chief Minister congratulated the Prime Minister on the historic launch of GST 2.0, describing it as a transformative reform aimed at strengthening ease of doing business, empowering small and medium enterprises, advancing cooperative federalism, and easing the tax burden on citizens.

Recalling the Prime Minister’s gracious consent to visit Sikkim during the Golden Jubilee of Statehood in May 2025, the Chief Minister expressed deep appreciation for his continued goodwill. Although the visit had to be cancelled due to unfavourable weather conditions, the Chief Minister noted that the Prime Minister’s message of encouragement had deeply inspired the people of Sikkim. He extended a renewed invitation to the Prime Minister to visit the State towards the end of November 2025.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister also presented long-pending issues of historical, social, political, and cultural importance for the Prime Minister’s kind consideration. The Prime Minister appreciated Sikkim’s unity, cultural richness, and steady development, and assured his positive support towards the State’s aspirations.

Expressing optimism about the future, the Chief Minister said he was confident that under the Prime Minister’s visionary leadership and invaluable guidance, Sikkim will continue to move ahead with strength, purpose, and dignity towards a golden, prosperous, and secure future.
