It was an immense honor and a profound privilege to extend my warmest welcome and to interact with Shri Sonam Lama, Hon'ble Minister, Govt. of Sikkim, at my residence today.

Our interaction regarding the upliftment of Tri-Ratna was truly refreshing and memorable, and I hope it will remain instrumental.

I wish and pray for the best to flourish for him, with rays of knowledge, peace, purity, prosperity, and compassion towards the upliftment of society, the state, and beyond.

Dated: 01/09/2025, Ms Tara Sharma Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Mangalbarey Sub-Division SDPO Office Mangalbarey along with the team of SHO Kaluk Thana conducted night patrolling ensuring safety measures and security for the public under the jurisdiction of Kaluk Police Station, Soreng District.

The initiative aimed at maintaining peaceful law and order for the public, efficient movement of motor vehicles and bikes with proper documents ensuring safe drive on the roads prohibiting accidents and checking drivers of vehicles so that they don't consume alcohol drinks and drive, checking in order to curtail drugs smuggling and etc.

Additionally, the police administration requests each and everyone to comply with the rules and regulations and request the vehicles drivers to have proper documents of the vehicle and to drive properly ensuring the safety of public life as well.

Lastly, the Sub -Divisional Administrative Centre Mangalbarey under Soreng District would like to thank and appreciate the entire police personnel for their selfless dedication for ensuring a peaceful environment and for maintaining peaceful law and order for the public.

Decomposed Body Recovered in Mamring, Probe Underway.

A decomposed body was discovered in Mamring, Namchi District after tenants of a four-storied building owned by local resident reported a strong foul smell emanating from one of the locked rooms.

Upon inspection, police recovered the body of a woman later identified as 30-year-old Sita Chettri, a native of Gelling in Soreng District. Chettri had been residing in the building for the past one and a half years, where she also operated a shop.

The site was examined by police officials, forensic experts, a fingerprint analyst, and a photographer. The inquest proceedings were carried out by the SDM/Namthang in the presence of family members and witnesses. Authorities confirmed that the body was already in an advanced stage of decomposition.

The remains were subsequently shifted to STNM Hospital, Gangtok, for a medico-legal autopsy. Police have stated that all necessary formalities at the location have been completed, and further investigations are in progress.

CM Prem Singh Tamang-Golay attended Inter-School Scholastic festival - Udaan at SMIT, Majitar. He writes.

Delighted to attend the Inter-School Scholastic festival - Udaan today in the premises of SMIT, Majitar. I sincerely thank the Inner Wheel Club and Rotary Club of Gangtok for organizing this inspiring event since 2011.

With over 1800 students from 120 schools participating in this festival it reflects the creativity, learning and youthful potential of the bright future of Sikkim.

Such programs enhance confidence, curiosity, and collaboration among students through activities like quizzes, debates, creative writing, arts, and more.

Dear students, remember success comes with effort, discipline, and never giving up. Embrace failure as part of growth. Make the best use of the resources and opportunities you have today, something we lacked in our student days.

A missing child, Taku Kania from Yaglung village in Kra Daadi district, Arunachal Pradesh, was found dead today near an electric transformer inside the Don Bosco School premises.

He had been missing for several days despite continuous search efforts by his family and relatives. The cause of death is yet to be ascertained, and investigations are currently underway.
