IIT Kharagpur, in collaboration with the Gopali Youth Welfare Society (GYWS), is excited to announce ECHO (Enhancing Communication for Holistic Outcomes), a free-of-cost, 3-day online workshop aimed at enhancing public speaking and communication skills among students. Scheduled from 21st to 23rd December 2024, this initiative seeks to empower over 1,500 college and high school students, equipping them with the tools to communicate effectively and confidently in any setting.

The workshop offers a carefully designed curriculum, including expert-led sessions, interactive exercises, and practical application of communication techniques. Participants will explore key aspects of impactful communication such as speech delivery, tone modulation, body language, and the art of crafting compelling speeches.

The event will feature a guest speaker from Toastmasters, who will provide invaluable insights into effective speechcraft and leadership communication. The program will culminate in a surprise competition, judged by esteemed members of Toastmasters, offering students a platform to showcase their communication skills.

IIT खड़गपुर, गोपाली यूथ वेलफेयर सोसाइटी (GYWS) के सहयोग से ECHO (समग्र परिणामों के लिए संवाद में सुधार) की घोषणा करता है, जो छात्रों के बीच सार्वजनिक बोलने और संवाद कौशल को बढ़ाने के लिए एक मुफ्त, तीन दिवसीय ऑनलाइन कार्यशाला है। यह कार्यशाला 21 से 23 दिसंबर 2024 तक आयोजित की जाएगी और इसका उद्देश्य 1500+ कॉलेज और हाई स्कूल छात्रों को सशक्त बनाना है, ताकि वे किसी भी स्थिति में प्रभावी और आत्मविश्वास के साथ संवाद कर सकें।

यह कार्यशाला एक ध्यानपूर्वक डिज़ाइन की गई पाठ्यक्रम पेश करती है, जिसमें विशेषज्ञ द्वारा निर्देशित सत्र, संवाद तकनीकों का व्यावहारिक अनुप्रयोग और इंटरएक्टिव अभ्यास शामिल हैं। प्रतिभागी प्रभावशाली संवाद के प्रमुख पहलुओं जैसे भाषण प्रस्तुतिकरण, स्वर की उतार-चढ़ाव, शारीरिक भाषा और प्रभावी भाषण लिखने की कला पर ध्यान केंद्रित करेंगे।

IIT Kharagpur is accepting applications for the first round of Young Innovator Programme. The last to register is December 12, 2024. This is the sixth edition of the programme, which aims to inculcate scientific temper in young minds.
The competition welcomes students currently enrolled in class 8 to 12. Top teams nationwide will be selected after the first round which will be held in online mode and they will be called to Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur to exhibit and demonstrate their models or prototype and charts which will be evaluated by professors of the institute.

YIP has drawn praise from luminaries worldwide, including the former President of India, Shri Ramnath Kovind, who lauded the initiative for fostering scientific temper and empowering youth to think critically. “It is a great initiative that helps inculcate the 21st century skills among the young,” said Radha G. from GIIS Smart Campus, Singapore. With over 3,000 entries in 2023, YIP continues to inspire young minds globally.

For participation, the principal of the school needs to nominate a coordinating teacher for this programme. The teacher will be given a user ID and password for registration of the students. The students need to form a team of two to three members and submit their name and details to the coordinating teacher of the school.

Round one submission starts with the team submitting their abstract of the project ideas briefing the scientific proposal based on the chosen theme. Round one results will be released on the website. All participants who make it to the next round will also receive the news via email.

For the semifinals, top teams nationwide will be selected. The selected team need to confirm their presence for a three-day event held at IIT Kharagpur. The registration fees for this round will be declared after the announcement of the results of the first round.

The qualifying teams from the second round will enter the winners round. In this round each team will be given an opportunity to demonstrate their ideas in the form of a presentation followed by a question and answer session.

If the students are interested to work more on their project, we can connect them to the professors of IIT Kharagpur who are in the judging panel. Last time, the chief guest has personally spoken to all the students who are presented in the final rounds.
