My Dear Fellow Sikkimese,

(MESSAGE FROM PD RAI, MP CANDIDATE, SDF)

When you vote on April 19th, you will celebrate 50 years of democracy since our first elections with universal suffrage on April 13th, 1974. We should all be proud of this achievement.

We have grown immeasurably. We have more roads, hospitals, colleges, and factories. We are better connected to India and the world. We have a guaranteed flow of tourists.

But we also have less. Less unity, less understanding. We are divided like never before, and wealth continues to be concentrated in fewer hands.

For more to have more, we must work together. We have to because we are a drop in the ocean of India and humanity. We must unite, or we will tear ourselves apart.

Fifty years ago, our forefathers gave us the power to choose our leaders. Let us be worthy of their sacrifices.

I thank you for giving me your time and attention during this campaign, and I wish you and your family the very best. It is my duty and my party's responsibility to help you move a step closer to your dream.

Long live Sikkim.

KN RAI RETURNS TO SIKKIM AFTER LONG HOSPITAL STAY

SDF leader and former Speaker KN Rai returned to Sikkim today after prolonged medical treatment in New Delhi. He was welcomed back at Melli by SDF party functionaries and supporters.

Mr. Rai was a victim of a murderous assault, which saw him being taken for treatment to Siliguri first and then to New Delhi.

After a long struggle to recover, he has finally made it home and is keen to meet his 95 year old mother, who still has not been told of the physical attack on her son.
