A laborer Anwar took his 5 year old daughter to Saraswati Medical College in Hapur, UP for treatment where he was asked to deposit money in advance for the treatment. When he did not have 20 thousand rupees for the treatment, the 5 year old girl lost her life.

According to Anwar, the father of the deceased girl, he folded his hands and told the doctors and staff that my daughter's condition is very bad, please do something. But they clearly said - first arrange for the money, only then will she get treatment. I had only 500 rupees in my pocket. I said I will arrange for the rest, but they did not listen to me. My daughter died in front of my eyes.

As Sikkim prepares to celebrate 50 glorious years as part of the Indian Union, it is deeply disappointing that “The Hindu” newspaper has published a map of India omitting Sikkim. This is more than just an oversight—it is an erasure of identity.

In the article titled “With a New Pope, an Understanding of Catholicism in India” by Mohd Arshid, published in The Hindu, the map used to depict the share of Catholics in India does not include Sikkim.

This comes just a week after The Hindu reported one of the biggest instances of fake news during the recent conflict with Pakistan, falsely claiming that three Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter jets had crashed in Jammu and Kashmir’s Akhnoor, Ramban, and Pampore. That report was later deleted after being exposed as misleading.
