Reduce cognitive load

That’s one of the most underrated productivity tools

I used to start my day with a long list of priorities

When everything became a priority, nothing got my full attention

A long task list is an inventory

A Top 3 list is a commitment

When you treat 15 tasks as today’s priorities, your attention keeps switching between competing goals. The result is increased cognitive load, reduced focus, and more mental fatigue.

Research shows that working memory is limited. The more active commitments you try to hold in mind, the harder it becomes to sustain attention on any one of them.

What worked for me:

• Keep a master list for everything.
• Choose 3 commitments for today.
• Measure success by completing those 3.

The goal isn’t to do less.

The goal is to reduce cognitive load so you can focus on what matters most.

Inventory captures possibilities.

Commitment drives action.

Balance and harmony are what we should strive to maintain through the little things that add up over time.

Journaling — there’s something about the touch of a pen, the flow of thoughts, and the connection between mind and paper that creates a sense of calm.

Walks in nature — even in our busy city lives, I find little green spaces where I can escape for a short walk, soaking in the breeze and the pleasant scenery.

Yoga and meditation are practices many of us incorporate into our daily lives, and their benefits build up over the years.

Reading something relaxing or inspiring has always been my go-to way to unwind at the end of the day.

These are some of my daily favorites. What are yours?

At most times, we don’t realize how small irregularities in our thoughts, habits, and actions quietly add up over time.

When things feel off, it’s rarely because of one major event. More often, it’s the accumulation of small imbalances.

The key is not perfection. The key is balance.

Save this post as a gentle reminder for those moments when life feels a little out of sync. Sometimes, a small adjustment is all it takes to find your way back on track

🧹 Have you ever noticed that right before a major change, you suddenly feel the urge to clean, organize, or put everything in order?

This weekend, I found myself doing a full cleaning overhaul just before starting something new at work.

And then I realized—this is something I do almost every time before a big new chapter.

When we’re about to step into uncertainty, our minds look for certainty. Cleaning, organizing, and finishing small tasks give us a sense of control, progress, and readiness.

What we often call procrastination may actually be preparation.

✨ A clean space.
✨ A clear mind.
✨ A signal that you’re getting ready for what’s next.

So if you suddenly feel the urge to tidy up, make lists, organize cupboards, or clear your desk before something important go do it and once you are done you will get the feeling of accomplishment and your mind will tell you:

“You’re ready now. Go for it.”

For me as the work week started there was a new enthusiasm and excitement to pick up the new work and that’s how it helped 😊

I’m curious—what’s your version of a “preparing for change” ritual? Comment 👇

Bought these two unique pieces from on MG Marg, Gangtok—a timeless piece of nature captured as an elegant bracelet, and a handcrafted wooden tea set with a teapot, cup, and milk pot.

And look how effortlessly they came together with a bread box I had bought months earlier. Different places, different times, yet somehow sharing the same earthy tones and quiet charm.

Now all that’s needed is a slow morning—a pot of chai, fresh bread, and the soft rustle of a newspaper.

The kind of morning where conversations linger, thoughts wander, and time forgets to hurry. ☕🍞📰

What does it feel like to live surrounded by nature every day?

Life here doesn’t fight the landscape—it flows with it. Even the simplest walk feels beautiful, and life moves at its own pace. A culture living in harmony with its surroundings.

Not a weekend escape. Not a holiday. Just everyday life.

Perhaps that is why nature has a way of keeping the mind refreshed and the heart lighter.

Maybe this is how we were always meant to live.

For a few days, I wasn’t just looking at nature. I was observing what life looks like when nature becomes part of everyday living.

And it made me wonder:

How different would our minds feel if this was our daily view instead of a vacation?

Nature and human beings can never go wrong together.

After all, this is where we came from.
