Gauhati University Mising Students' Union - gumsu Gauhati University Mising Students' Union(GUMSU) is a student organization of Gauhati University established in 2006-07 but regularly run from 2009-10.

The first official President of GUMSU was Mg. Bhupen Kr. Taid and General Secretary was Mg. Sidananda Pegu. GUMSU is a form of 5 Mising student subgroup of Gauhati University. GUMSU is Integration with Mising students of P.Hd schoolers, P.G, B.Tech,Law and IDOL. The Aim & Objective of the union shall be upliftment of the mising student in respect of culture, Language, Literature, Political, Social & Justice and help others. GUMSU has its' own Constitution. The GUMSU constitution is formed at the year of 2014 with the monitoring of GUMSU President Mg. Pranjal Pegu(2014-15) and Gen. Secretary Mm. Dipti Taid(2014-15). The Jurisdiction of the union shall be limited within Gauhati University or Integration of Gauhati University and other Institute/college. The Union has its own EMBLEM.The emblem of the union shall be
i) The emblem shall be round. ii) In round “GAUHATI UNIVERSITY MISING STUDENTS’ UNION” and “TAKAM MISING PORIN OPE’: I’RROI” shall be written. iii) Under round the mising “Tongali” (soal) signify that we belong to mising community. iv) Under round the Book Signify that we are educating people. v) Under round the Sun Signify that we are upgrading our community by our knowledge. GUMSU has a yearly published mouthpiece cm magazine called as ‘Be’dang’. Initially GUMSU is able to publish it's first edition in the years so per(2011-12) and it's second edition (2014-15) after that its been published yearly since then.

যোৱা ইংৰাজী ৯ ছেপ্টেম্বৰ তাৰিখে শিক্ষক দিৱসৰ লগত সংগতি ৰাখি পলমকৈ হ'লেও গুৱাহাটী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ৰ সম্প্ৰতি অধ্যাপনাৰত মিচিং শিক্ষাগুৰুসকলক আমাৰ GUMSU পৰিয়ালৰ দ্বাৰা অনুষ্টুপীয়াকৈ আয়োজিত অনুষ্ঠানৰ জৰিয়তে সম্বৰ্ধনা জ্ঞাপন কৰোঁ। উক্ত অনুষ্ঠানত উপস্থিত থাকি আমাক কৃতাৰ্থ কৰা উদ্ভিদ বিজ্ঞান বিভাগৰ মুৰব্বী অধ্যাপক শ্ৰদ্ধাৰ কুমানন্দ টায়ুং ছাৰৰ লগতে আধুনিক ভাৰতীয় ভাষা বিভাগৰ সহকাৰী অধ্যাপক শ্ৰদ্ধাৰ অভিজিত পায়েং ছাৰ,নৃতত্ব বিভাগৰ সহকাৰী অধ্যাপক জ্যোতিস্মান টায়ে ছাৰ আৰু ভূগোল বিভাগৰ সহকাৰী অধ্যাপক চন্দ্ৰকান্ত পাৱে ছাৰক আমাৰ গুৱাহাটী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ৰ মিছিং ছাত্ৰ সন্থাৰ তৰফৰ পৰা আন্তৰিক ধন্যবাদ জ্ঞাপন কৰিছোঁ। তেওঁলোকে বিভিন্ন দিশৰ লগতে গুৱাহাটী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ৰ প্ৰাক্তন শিক্ষাৰ্থী সন্মিলন গঠনৰ পৰামৰ্শ আগবঢ়ায়।এই উল্লেখিত বিষয়টি অনাগত ভৱিষ্যতত ফলপ্ৰসূ ৰূপ দিয়াৰ বাবে আমাৰ GUMSU পৰিয়ালে যৎপৰোনাস্তি চেষ্টা কৰিম।

The 18th General Conference of Gauhati University Mising Students’ Union (GUMSU) was held today.

It was a meaningful gathering as we welcomed the newly selected GUMSU Committee 2026–27, with Shaktiman Pegu as President and Deepshikha Taid as General Secretary. Congratulations to the entire new team! ✊✊

The conference was also attended by our Advisory Committee members, Pankaj Mili, Radheshyam Doley, Migom Pegu and Likhan Kuli, along with members of the TMPK Guwahati City Committee, including its President Cedric Lagachu.

The outgoing President and Secretary, Samuel Pegu and Manju Yein, conducted the meeting and formally handed over the responsibility to the new team.

A new committee also means new responsibilities. I hope the new team will work together with sincerity and unity for the betterment of our students and for the broader upliftment of Mising society, especially in education, youth development and community welfare.

Wishing the new committee a successful and meaningful tenure ahead. ✊

Gauhati University Mising Students’ Union (GUMSU) successfully celebrated “KANGKÍN KÉBANG 2025.”
We feel truly honored and fortunate to have had Mg Lila Taye as our Chief Guest , an esteemed alumnus of Gauhati University, a successful entrepreneur, and a Central Executive Member of TMPK.

We were equally delighted to receive inspiring words from Dr. Abhijit Payeng, TMPK GCC President Mg Cedric Lagachu, ADC, Kamrup District Mg Casio Karan Pegu Sir, and Prominent Litterateur Mg Sitaram Doley.

It was also a great pleasure to share an engaging informal session with the popular Mising actor Baba Pegu, whose presence added immense charm to the event.

The day concluded with a vibrant cultural evening, made truly memorable by the soulful voice of Poba Gourav, leaving everyone captivated and filled with joy.
