According to local sources, armed Tangkhul militants, suspected to be cadres of the NSCN (Eastern Flank), attacked Kultuh Kuki village in Kamjong district, killing two villagers and injuring several others.

The deceased were identified as Letminlun Haokip, Head Deacon of the Kuki Baptist Church in Kultuh, and Lunminthang Haokip, President of the Kultuh Youth Club.
