800 meters down in the Pacific. No light. No sound. Just pressure.
That's where they found it.
A fish with a completely transparent skull — and two glowing green eyes sitting inside a dome of living fluid. Rotating. Shifting. Watching everything above it.
The wild part? Every single specimen scientists ever caught died before reaching the surface. The dome collapsed. The eyes lost their shape. For a hundred years, we studied a broken version of this animal and thought that was the truth.
We were completely wrong.
The Barreleye fish doesn't just see through water — it sees through its own head. While its face points forward, its eyes rotate upward to track predators above it. Two directions. Simultaneously.
