Itanagar,July 22: In a significant move aimed at strengthening safety protocols in schools, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a notification mandating the installation of high-resolution CCTV cameras with audio facilities at all key locations within affiliated school premises. The amendment comes under Chapter 4 of the Affiliation Bye-Laws-2018, specifically clause 4.7.10, focusing on the physical infrastructure of schools.

As per the new directive, schools must install CCTV systems at all entry and exit points, including classrooms, libraries, canteens, staff rooms, staircases, playgrounds, and other common areas, with the exception of washrooms. The cameras must support real-time audio-visual recording, and be equipped with a storage drive of at least 15 days. A minimum 15-day backup must also be ensured and made accessible to authorities when required.

The decision aligns with recommendations in the NCPCRโ€™s Manual on School Safety, which emphasizes continuous monitoring to prevent bullying, abuse, and other safety concerns. Citing the importance of both physical and emotional safety of children, the Board has urged all schools to implement the guideline with immediate effect and in full spirit.

Itanagar,July 21: In a landmark moment for Arunachal Pradesh football, Kozam Beyong has cemented his name into the history books by becoming the first footballer from the state to win the I-League title, following Inter Kashi FCโ€™s official crowning as champions of the 2024โ€“25 season.

The 21-year-old left-back, hailing from Arunachal Pradesh, played a key role in Inter Kashi FCโ€™s impressive campaign. His club was formally declared the I-League winner after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) overturned a previous ruling by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) that had temporarily stripped Inter Kashi of crucial points.

Kozam joined Inter Kashi in 2023 from Rajasthan United FC and had previously been part of the Jamshedpur FC youth setup. Known for his pace, composure on the ball, and defensive discipline, Kozam quickly established himself as a reliable presence on the left flank for the Kashi-based side.

The title confirmation followed a CAS verdict delivered on 18 July 2025, which reinstated Inter Kashiโ€™s original points tally, placing them at the top of the league table with 42 points. Churchill Brothers FC Goa finished second with 40 points, while Real Kashmir FC and Namdhari FC followed with 37 and 29 points respectively.

Speaking after the decision, AIFF extended its congratulations to Inter Kashi FC, marking a significant moment for the club and its players.
