सिवान के मलमलिया बाजार इन दिनों पेड़े के कारण चर्चा में है। किसी जमाने में जानवरों के मेले आम के थोक मंडी के कारण मलमलिया की पहचान थी यहां से एक सड़क भाया बनियापुर होते हुए छपरा की तरफ जाती है तो दूसरी सड़क मदारपुर हरदिया होते हुए मोहम्मदपुर जाती पश्चिम की तरफ सड़क सिवान तक जाती है जबकि पूर्व की तरफ मसरख तरैया अमनौर होते हुए शीतलपुर जाती हैं मलमलिया एक चौराहे पर बसा हुआ समृद्ध मार्केट है। जहां से आप सिवान गोपालगंज छपरा और पटना जाने के लिए स्टेट हाईवे पकड़ सकते हैं इसी बाजार में बनता है दानेदार पेड़ा। जिनकी डिमांड अब देश के विभिन्न प्रांतो में होने लगी पहले स्थानीय दुकानदार लोकल मार्केट के हिसाब से पेड़ा बनाते थे पर आप डिमांड इतनी ज्यादा बढ़ गई है कि दर्जन पर से ज्यादा दुकान खुल गई है। स्वाद में यह बेमिसाल होता है संधापन के साथ ही साथ तो हल्का खट्टा और दानेदार भी। यहां के कारीगरों ने पेड़ा को अपने हिसाब से सांचे में डाला है जो दानेदार होता है। ऑनलाइन कंपनियां भी अब मलमलिया के पेड़ों के ब्रांडिंग में लगी हुई है। पूरे आम के सीजन में यहां पर चंपारण के इलाके से दो-तीन महीना तक आम की खूब आवाक होती है। इसी बाजार में थोक मंडी होती है जहां से व्यापारी आम खरीद कर ले जाते हैं आप किसी भी प्रजाति की आम खरीदना चाहते हैं तो यहां से खरीद सकते हैं। आम की पहचान से ज्यादा लेकिन अब खास पहचान पेड़े के लिए मलमलिया की हो गई है।
