I was a candidate for 5 No. Uttar Bajali Zilla Parishad in Manjit Basumatary Gaon Panchayat Election 2025 but I contested as an independent candidate under the influence of central political parties, and although I got support from many people, I could not win due to majority of other communities. However, if the party nominates me in the upcoming elections, I hope to contest from Bajali area and continue working in the regional party.

: UPPL Set to Exit NDA in December, to Contest 27 Seats in 2026 Assam Polls

In a Major Political Development, the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) is reportedly set to exit the NDA alliance in December 2025. The decision was taken during the party’s meeting at Panbari in Bijni. As per the resolution, UPPL will field candidates in 27 constituencies in the 2026 Assembly election, including 15 seats within the BTR and 12 outside, such as Dhekiajuli, West Goalpara, Dudhnoi, Boko, Chaygaon, Bajali, Rangia, Dispur, Naduar, Golaghat, Dimoria, Barsala, and Dhemaji. The move has triggered a political stir within the NDA camp.
