| A woman in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj switched her gender to be with her girlfriend after families opposed their relationship.

Two women, who are le****ns, vowed to be partners throughout their journey, but when the family did not accept their relationship, one of them decided to undergo surgery to change her gender. The woman, madly in love with her partner, decided to switch her gender to avoid any hurdles and stop the interference of other people.

The woman tried all the possible ways to persuade the families but in vain and when she was left with no other option, she decided to change her gender.
A team of doctors at Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital in Prayagraj conducted the s*x reassignment surgery when altercations were made to her upper body parts and chest restructuring. The doctors said that the surgery would take another 1.5 years, following which she would become a man.

Dr. Mohit Jain who lead the surgery said, "The woman will be given testosterone replacement therapy. The testosterone therapy will stimulate the growth of chest hair."

He further explained that after the gender change surgery, the woman would not be in a position to conceive and become pregnant. "This is the first time that such an operation has been conducted and a time of around 18 months is expected to complete this. A full health check-up of the woman was done and she is doing fine," he added.

| The Bodoland Janajati Suraksha Mancha (BJSM) has strongly opposed the move of Kokrajhar district administration for the acquisition of 36 bighas of land in Boro tribal inhabited area in Kokrajhar town for construction of a new Circuit House but said that the administration had miserably failed to carry out an eviction drive against tribal illegal settlers in government khas lands near Gaurang riverine areas.

In a memorandum to the Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner submitted on Friday, the president of BJSM, Janaklal Basumatary, and working president DD Narzary said the Kokrajhar DC had carried out a land acquisition survey of 36 bighas under Dag no. 497 of Kokrajhar revenue circle in Chandamari area inhabited by tribal people for construction of new Circuit House and now the DC's residence. They said they were against the acquisition of land in tribal inhabited areas for any construction purpose. They said that thousands of bighas of khas land were being illegally occupied by non-tribal people, but instead of evicting them, the district administration had set its eyes on tribal land for construction purposes.

The memorandum said there was already a DC bungalow and Circuit House in Kokrajhar town. Besides, there is the Bodoland Guest house, PWD guest house, police guest house, Irrigation guest house, agriculture guest house, Sericulture guest house, and CIT guest house with modern facilities in Kokrajhar town. Thus, there is no urgent necessity for the construction of another Circuit House and DC bungalow in tribal agricultural land.

The BJSM urged the district administration to stop land acquisition in tribal inhabited areas and called for action against illegal settlers in Kokrajhar. They also said that the government should stop 'harassing' tribal people by the forceful acquisition of land and provide land pattas to them.

| India skipper Rohit Sharma has tested positive for COVID-19 in a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and was placed in isolation ahead of the 'fifth' Test against England, the BCCI said on Sunday.

The Test match is scheduled to begin on July 1 in Birmingham and if Rohit remains in six-day isolation, either pacer Jasprit Bumrah or wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant could be asked to lead the team.

"Team India captain Mr. Rohit Sharma has tested positive for COVID-19 following a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) conducted on Saturday," BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said in a media release.

"He is currently in isolation at the team hotel and is under the care of the BCCI Medical Team. An RT-PCR test will be conducted on Sunday to ascertain his CT value," the release added.

Rohit had batted on the first day of the ongoing warm-up game against Leicestershire but didn't take the field on the second day. He did not bat in the second Indian innings.

The 35-year-old Indian skipper is expected to open the innings alongside Shubman Gill in the Test match and his participation would now depend on the result of his RT-PCR test and recovery.

Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin had also joined the squad in England late since he had also tested positive for COVID-19 before the team left for the UK tour.

The matches are not played under a bio-bubble in the UK now. India too hosted South Africa recently without a bio-bubble.
