This is Lamadisa LP School under Gunjung Constituency. It is on the verge of shutdown as there are only 3 students left in the school- one in 3rd grade and 2 students in 5th grade! These two students will leave for class 6 in a different location next year and so the 3rd one will leave as well.

One classroom, 3 students and 2 Teachers. The infrastructure is okay but why do the children leave? No adequate classroom, no good Teachers!!

Request the Authorities to intervene in this matter, so that no Parents have to send their children outside their Village for Study up to class 5!!

Centuries-old Gunjung will never be the same again. 💔 It’s heartbreaking to see these magnificent, centuries-old trees inside the village being brought down for Road construction.

Had this been in Japan or China, efforts would likely have been made to divert the road and protect the natural heritage. But unfortunately, we are living in India.

One tyre each was reportedly stolen from three vehicles at two different locations- one in Gunjung and two in Gajo village on Saturday night.
The suspected thief was reportedly seen roaming around the area on a motorcycle around midnight on Saturday.

Eagarly waiting for Assam Mala Project From Diyungbra to Haflong for completion! Most parts between Diyungbra and Dershi have been completed. But why is it taking so much time for the contractor to start black-topping the completed stretches.

2 lane road from Mahur to Tamenglong, Manipur under Bharat Mala which started much later is near its completion. But why is Assam Mala Project completion much behind its schedule time. Any reason??
Black-topping would be a much-needed relief for daily commuters, making the journey smoother, safer, and more convenient.

A Growing Concern for Dima Hasao's Organic Heritage-

Dima Hasao has long been known for its traditional, natural, and organic farming practices. However, the increasing use of chemical herbicides and pesticides is gradually eroding this identity. These chemicals are now readily available in local markets and are being widely used by farmers to control weeds & pests.

This is a matter of serious concern for the future of Dima Hasao. The easy availability and indiscriminate use of such chemicals may have serious long-term impacts on human health, soil fertility, water resources, and the environment. The concerned authorities should regulate their sale and promote sustainable alternatives to help farmers manage weeds & Pest without compromising the district's organic heritage.

A new vehicle repair and tyre service shop has opened in Gunjung.

Services available include:

- Tyre changing and replacement
- Puncture repair
- Minor mechanical repairs
- Brake repair and adjustments

Until now, 4 & 2 wheeler owners from Gunjung and the surrounding areas had to travel all the way to Haflong or Maibang even for minor problems like a punctured tyre or brake issues.

It has come to our notice that Gunjung Block Primary Health Centre (BPHC) has been functioning without a Lab Technician for the past four months. As a result, patients are unable to access even basic laboratory investigations such as blood tests and are forced to travel to Haflong, causing unnecessary hardship, delays, and additional expenses.

Despite the Joint Director of Health Services issuing a posting order for a Lab Technician on 24-06-2026, the concerned official has yet to report for duty.

The newly constructed Gunjung BPHC is well-equipped with modern laboratory equipment and has the capacity to provide more than 25 different diagnostic tests. However, these facilities remain largely non-functional due to the absence of a qualified Lab Technician, depriving the people of essential healthcare services.

We earnestly request the Department of Health & Family Welfare and the concerned authorities to treat this matter as a priority and ensure that the posted Lab Technician joins Gunjung BPHC without further delay.

Kindly address this issue on an urgent basis in the interest of public health.
