major connectivity upgrade could be on the way for Delhi-NCR travellers.
The government has started a feasibility study for a
proposed underground tunnel network that could eventually help connect Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGl) with Noida International Airport via key transport corridors. The plan is being explored by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
According to reports, the project may be developed in phases. One phase studies a tunnel between central Delhi and Gurugram via IGI Airport, while another phase could extend connectivity towards Sarai Kale Khan, which is linked to routes leading to Noida International Airport and the Jewar region.
โ With Noida International Airport set to begin commercial operations from June 15, 2026, authorities are also working on multiple projects to improve airport access across the NCR.
Do you think a direct tunnel connection between Delhi and Noida airports would make travel easier?
