Last weekend was worth remembering.

After nearly six years, dragon boating returned to Marina Bay with the IHH Healthcare x Singapore Sea Regatta 2025, carrying with it more than competition; it carried a cause.

Mental health remains one of the most pressing yet under-discussed challenges in Singapore. That’s why this year’s theme, “Rise Above the Waves”, mattered so much. The event brought together over 1,900 participants from 77 teams across Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China alongside a two-day carnival of wellness talks and family-friendly activities, showing how sport can spark conversations that break stigma and build resilience.

From the Minister’s Cup, with Health Minister Ong Ye Kung paddling in the opening race, to initiatives like Pull-Ups for a Cause, every moment underscored how community, sport, and healthcare can come together to inspire healthier lives.
