Tourist visits temple, sea fort and beaches


Malvan is an ancient town associated with popular cuisine Malvani, but till the year 2015 this town had no Ganpati temple and Jyotibhaskar Jayant Salgaonkar creator of very popular almanac Kalnirnay constructed this Ganapati temple.The temple has been constructed as per the holy principles of temple architecture in India.

Jay Ganesh idol is pure gold plated. This main idol in the sanctorum is in the traditional pose with Riddhi- Siddhi (consorts of Lord) on both sides. Siddhi is holding Dhol (Indian traditional percussion instrument) and sword in her hand while Riddhi has pen and paper in her hands. The hall has eight idols of Ganesh carved in the ceiling. One gets a very comfortable feeling of Bhagwan Ganesh looking benevolently from all the eight directions at his disciple. The interior of the temple is very rich and has used soothing colours. A five-day annual festival of Ganesh Jayanti is celebrated on 4th Day of Magh (Hindu Calendar). The speciality of this temple’s architecture can be seen on the early morning of Makar Sankranti (14th or 15th of January), on this day the early sunrays fall directly on the idol and one can see the glittering and shining Jay Ganesh. Many tourists visit on this particular day to witness the sun rays on Jay Ganesh idol says Shri Jayendra Salgaonkar, Chairperson of the Temple Trust.

Sindhudurg fort( Sea Fort )constructed by Chhatrapti Shivaji Maharaj is only 17 kms and many tourists visit both the places.

Grand welcome for Goa’s Minister

Shri Rohan Khaunte and Neelam Khaunte were the guests at the Indian Navy Day ceremonial presentation at Gateway of India,Mumbai and later joined Vice Admiral Ajendra Bahadur Singh at Navy House. Next day the Minister and his wife visited Siddhi Vinayak Temple to seek blessings and later were at BSE, one of the fastest stock exchanges in the world. Team BSE and Goa Tourism are the key associates of India’s unique national event Maha Navy Connect executed by Indian Navy and Times Group.
