A brace from Parthib Gogoi helped NorthEast United FC seal a perfect Group F campaign and march into the quarter-finals of the 135th IndianOil Durand Cup with a 3-1 victory over FC1 at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Tuesday.

Parthib opened the scoring in the 11th minute, arriving unmarked at the back post to finish a low cross from Jithin M.S. after Antonio Moyano had initiated the move. He struck again nine minutes after the restart, reacting quickly inside a crowded penalty area to control the ball and produce a composed finish for his second of the evening.

The 23-year-old then turned provider, threading a precise through ball for Alaaeddine Ajaraie, who chipped the goalkeeper in the 68th minute for his sixth goal of the tournament. Mohmad Ilyas pulled one back for FC1 three minutes later.

The result completed a flawless group stage for the defending champions, who finished on top of Group F with three wins from three matches and booked their place in the Durand Cup quarter-finals.
