Tensions have risen in Manipur's Ukhrul district after local organisations demanded the immediate withdrawal of Assam Rifles personnel from an outpost at New Heaven. According to local sources, residents alleged that repeated appeals by village authorities and community leaders to vacate what they described as an unauthorised outpost had not been acted upon. They maintained that their opposition was related to issues of village authority procedures and local consent rather than security concerns. The Katho Students' Union, Katho Long and the Katho Women Coordination Committee (KWCC) have directed Assam Rifles personnel stationed at New Heaven to withdraw and warned against any untoward incidents arising from the situation.

The Nepal government has revised its customs policy, allowing daily-use goods worth up to 500 Nepalese rupees to be brought from India without customs duty. The move comes after protests erupted in border areas over earlier rules that imposed duties on items exceeding 100 Nepalese rupees. Under the revised policy, students will also be permitted to bring tablets and laptops for personal use without additional charges. The decision marks a significant relaxation of restrictions on cross-border purchases and is expected to benefit residents living in Nepal's border districts who regularly procure essential goods from India.

India successfully maintained the movement of its energy cargoes through the Strait of Hormuz despite disruptions caused by regional conflict, according to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
