In a heart-stopping display of instinct and loyalty, a five-month-old puppy named Rocky saved his entire village from a devastating landslide in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district on June 26.

The disaster unfolded in Siyati village at around 12:30 am, after hours of relentless heavy rain triggered a massive landslide.

Rocky, who was sleeping on the ground floor, suddenly began barking and howling nonstop, alerting his owner to potential danger. His owner investigated and discovered a large crack in the wall and water rushing into the house. Realising a landslide was imminent, he grabbed Rocky and quickly alerted his family.

From the top floor, the owner saw the mud and debris sliding towards the village. Without any delay, he rushed from house to house, knocking on doors and shouting for people to evacuate.

Thanks to Rocky's warning and his owner's swift action, all 22 families in the village were able to reach safety just minutes before the landslide struck, destroying nearly a dozen houses.

After alerting everyone, Rocky got stuck in the debris and had to be rescued himself. Miraculously, everyone survived without injuries, thanks to the timely warning provided by the brave little puppy's barking.
