Gangtok, April 27: Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay on Monday said that the people of Sikkim extended a grand and enthusiastic welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his arrival in Gangtok.

In a post shared on his official page, the Chief Minister stated that citizens from all sections of society gathered in large numbers to greet the Prime Minister, reflecting deep respect and admiration for his leadership. He added that it was an honour to accompany the Prime Minister during the roadshow and witness the overwhelming public support and warmth firsthand.

As per police sources, vehicular movement along the National Highway stretch between Ganju Lama Dwar and Zero Point will remain closed from 2:30 PM onwards in view of the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The restriction has been imposed as part of heightened security arrangements to ensure smooth movement and safety during the Prime Minister’s visit. Commuters have been advised to plan their travel accordingly and use alternative routes to avoid inconvenience.

Authorities are expected to monitor the situation closely, and normal traffic movement will resume once the security clearance is given.
